Odis Maynor Sanders, 103, passed away peacefully Wednesday May 8, 2024, at Westchester Manor. She was born October 16, 1920, to Alice Deaton Maynor and Henry Clay Maynor in Mt. Gilead, NC. On June 28, 1939, she married Charles Sanders. They made their home in High Point, NC, where he preceded her in death.

Odis was a member of First Methodist Church where she served in several different capacities over the years. She truly loved First Methodist and her Pathfinders Sunday School Class. One of her passions was growing long stemmed roses. For several years, along with Penny Leonard and Doris Dowdy, she prepared flowers for the Sunday services. Most of all, she cherished the friendships and support she received over the years from the membership.

Family was a priority. Fortunately, she was able to attend and be a part of the activities her grandchildren were involved in. She was quick to let everyone know about their achievements. Golf was also a passion and she played for several years at Colonial Country Club. The friendships she developed there were very important to her.

She is survived by her sons, Charlie [Jackie] of High Point, NC and Craig [Kitty] of Hickory, NC; Granddaughters, Natalie Kerr [Duncan] of Raleigh, NC and Mollie Shannon [Brent] of San Diego, CA; Grandsons, Patrick Sanders [Emily] of Winston Salem, NC and Kevin Sanders [Jen] of Clemmons, NC; Great granddaughters, Etta Shannon, Karly, Kinsley and Cora Sanders; Great grandsons, Jackson and Charlie Kerr and James Shannon. She is also survived by a sister, Betty Morris of Denton, NC and a brother-in-law, Frank Sanders [Ruby] of Troy, NC.

Memorial services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, May 17, 2024, at First Methodist Church in High Point with Rev. Josh Barnes and Rev. Debra Swing officiating. A private family burial will be held at Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
