Ive deleted a book from my Kindle list on the Amazon website, but the image is still on my iPad. One suggestion on this website was: press and hold the book image, and use menu to delete. When I do that a small window appears with a few possible options, e.g. "download", etc but no delete option. There is no menu anywhere. Can anyone help? I need to delete several books.

Maybe it works differently if you already deleted it from your library on the website. So it is actually deleted but the app needs to update to catch up with the website. Try pulling down the library page on the app to make it update.

Partly. One book which I deleted on the kindle app on my iMac is still there, but others which I've deleted on the Amazon website using "manage your devices" were successfully deleted (choose the "Delete permanently" option).

I followed your instructions and the special offers can be removed, but I will be charged $20 to do so because I agreed to special offers and received a $20 discount when purchasing my kindle. Is there any way around this? Thanks!

It worked! I called customer service and the ads were removed immediately. No payment necessary. They had to find my current Kindle since I have had several iterations. Now I can get to my book without having to traverse that annoying step of exiting the advertisement! Thanks for your advice.

I stopped being able to remove DRM on kindle books using epubor on a mac about 15 months ago. DRM removal for kobo books is much easier, and they read pretty well on Kindle once converted to the right format.

Or you can use an OCR tool and create your own file with the text. You can use your phone with the free Google Lens App for example. Just scan some pages of text copy it into a note and then import it in a lingq lesson.

I know it is not optimal but better than nothing. If you want to automate that, you can do it on PC with an OCR tool of your choice and a macro generator. I did that with some spanish kindle books back than.

@bstein I wish I had read your comment sooner. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out Calibre, and then it kept crashing. Finally, I bought Epubor Ultimate two days ago, and that has worked great. I am also using a Mac.

I recommend Epubor to anyone less tech savvy, like myself, than many people on here. Yes, there is cost, but I will get plenty of use out of it, and it will transform my learning experience. So it is definitely worth it.

I am now trying to figure out how to edit the lessons, etc., to make the book format on LingQ mirror the original chapters, if that is possible. I will inquire about that in a separate post, although that issue is more cosmetic than anything. Simply getting DRM-protected content into LingQ was the big battle.

All content included in or made available through any Amazon Service, such as text, graphics, logos, button icons, images, audio clips, digital downloads, and data compilations is the property of Amazon or its content suppliers and protected by United States and international copyright laws.

All the books on your Kindle are not yours. They belong to Amazon. All that cash you have paid was simply to access these books on your Kindle. You have not paid to own the books. If you want to own books, pay for physical printed books and get Amazon to send them to you by post.

Providers like Amazon, Apple and Barnes & Noble have structured their licences like this to protect themselves. If there is a catastrophic site failure that makes access to your books impossible, then you could sue for the return of your property. They would be liable.

To try and protect your investment on Kindle and Nook, you can try to remove the DRM from the book. Removing the DRM from the book puts you in contravention of terms and conditions and you then run the risk of having your account suspended. But you will have access to the books.

With the imminent demise of the printed book, we are going to have to get used to the way we purchase but do not own electronic goods. Whether that is virtual clothing for my Second Life avatar, a customised background image on Twitter or a premium account on LinkedIn, it is not really mine.

A significant advantage of eBook reading device is the capacity, even with a basic version of Kindle, you can hold thousands of eBooks with this handy size device. But every coin has two sides. As you keep adding more and more ebooks to your device, storage space will run out soon. What's worse, you need to spend a lot of time finding the book you want to read, it is high time that you should delete / remove kindle books.

Kindle delete permanently vs remove from device: In general, the difference between "Delete" and "Remove" is that "remove" only deleted the history for the book(we can retain them in the cloud for later), while "Delete" will delete books from the MYCD library.

Books are still stored on Amazon cloud though they were removed from your device. So it's possible to redownload them onto your device again. just click on "MY LIBRARY" on the home page. Then choose "ALL" button in the top-right corner, next select the book you wish to redownload.

Of course you can also re-download your Kindle books through your Amazon account. From "Manager your Content and Device" tab click the "Actions" button, select the "Deliver to Default Device or Others" option.

If you want to delete books from Kindle devices in batch, make sure the Kindle firmware is 5.9.2.0.1 or above version. You can automatically update software firmware to 5.9.2.0.1 version or above on your Kindle device or download Firmware 5.9.2.0.1 manually from Amazon website.Notice: All the methods above just delete the books from your device. If you want to delete them completely, you need to remove them from Kindle Cloud.

To remove content from your Kindle app which installed on Android device, just find the book you want to remove from your Kindle app for Android, tap on the book cover that you want to delete for 2 seconds, then choose "Remove from device".

Content that is purchased from the Kindle Store is archived and can be re-downloaded at any time; sideloaded content and personal documents that are not archived in your Kindle Library are permanently deleted.

With Kindle Unlimited we can borrow books (up to ten books) but no need to pay for them. But once finished reading, they will be still saved in our account. In this situation we can delete them from Kindle Unlimited history.

Before you do this, please make sure you understand that if you delete a book from your Kindle Cloud, you will not be able to read it any more unless you purchase the book again. In other words, you are giving up your ownership of this book by deleting it from your Kindle Cloud.

If you navigate to this part, I can see you really have a pretty strong mind to clean up your Kindle archives. Now let's remove contents from Kindle Cloud permanently(deleted them off the website).

1) Login to Amazon.com and go to "Manage Your Content and Devices" page. In this page you can see all the items in your Kindle Cloud, which means they can be synced to all your registered Kindle devices and apps.

If you delete books from your library/cloud/archive, you can never have the books back. This means that you have to purchase for a second time if you want to read them again. Still want to delete kindle books from your Kindle account but need a back-up? Please use Epubor Ultimate tool which helps remove the drm from your Kindle books and back up them to your computer for good.

For users borrowing ebooks from the library, typically, rented books are automatically returned to the library when the Kindle book lending period expires. However, the expired Kindle Books may still appear on your Kindle device or reading app, and they cannot be opened. To delete such Kindle books, please follow the steps below.

If you are determined to delete your purchased Kindle books, ensure that they are safely backed up on your computer. To help yourself back up kindle books, please follow this guide: How to Back up Your Kindle Books to Computer. To get this task finished, Epubor Ultimate is the best tool.

There is a set of Python scripts for removing DRM from several different eBook formats, including Kindle's. One of them (called KindleBooks) allows you to remove the DRM without needing Kindle for PC. Instead it just uses the serial number from the Kindle they were purchased for to decode the books. It worked great for books downloaded on my Kindle 2.

It also has handy plugins for calibre, which is open source software for reading and converting various eBook formats as well as syncing to many different kinds of eBook readers. I highly recommend it.

The above tools work great on Linux, and should work fine on Mac OS X too as they are all Python-based. In order to run them, you will need to install Python for Windows or Mac (which comes with Python, but apparently has older versions), or make sure you have packages for Python and its Tk binding installed on your Linux system.

Recently, I de-drm'd our family's collection of purchased Kindle e-books using skindle. The link is to a blog post giving step-by-step instructions for using it. It's Windows only and relies on having an installed version of Kindle for PC.

As on installation it will immediately update itself to the latest version,it is recommended to install it while Internet is turned off, and disableauto-update in the Options before connecting to your account.

After turning on the Internet and connecting to your account, download yourbooks to the computer. They will by default be found in the folderC:\Users\USER\Documents\My Kindle Content and have strange names.

Adding the .azw book to Calibre will automatically invoke theDeDRM tools to undo the DRM, and the book will be added to your Calibre library, where you may read it with the supplied viewer, or convert it to another format.

Kindle is Amazon's e-book service where you can access books you bought through Amazon, as well as e-books checked out from the library. Kindle is both a e-book device and an app that can be downloaded on any device.
