There is a connect.dat file in the program file with a line saying "OLE DB Provider = MSDASQL". Changing this entry alters the error message I get to "Provider cannot be found, it may not be properly installed".
It is important that your ODBC driver's executable and linking format (ELF) is the same as your application. In other words, you need a 32-bit driver for a 32-bit application or a 64-bit driver for a 64-bit application.
If these do not match, it is possible to configure a DSN for a 32-bit driver and when you attempt to use that DSN in a 64-bit application, the DSN won't be found because the registry holds DSN information in different places depending on ELF (32-bit versus 64-bit).
Be sure you are using the correct ODBC Administrator tool. On 32-bit and 64-bit Windows, the default ODBC Administrator tool is in c:\Windows\System32\odbcad32.exe. However, on a 64-bit Windows machine, the default is the 64-bit version. If you need to use the 32-bit ODBC Administrator tool on a 64-bit Windows system, you will need to run the one found here: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe
Where I see this tripping people up is when a user uses the default 64-bit ODBC Administrator to configure a DSN; thinking it is for a 32-bit DSN. Then when the 32-bit application attempts to connect using that DSN, "Data source not found..." occurs.
This was not the first time I have come to this page searching for the same error message. Unfortunately, Microsoft error messages are vague and often several different issues will cause the same error message, hence why there are so many answers here.
The problem is that when I am opening an ADODB connection in VBA, and I use this same string, it will produce the "[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified" error.
Following the instructions here =27099554 I had to install the Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable before I had the Excel driver installed to use the DSN-less connection I wanted to use from perl.
I had the installed drivers listed in odbcinst -q -d, and could connect manually but not through R's odbc::dbConnect(). Turns out I forgot a semicolon in the connection string: .connection_string = "TrustServerCertificate=yes;"
Atools is a set of custom programs created to modify and customize Flyff resource files. The files can then be used on private game servers. There are four tools included which allow you to modify everything about the game like the GUI, models of monsters and items, character models, and even the world maps. I had a really hard time finding these old files, so I compiled them with visual studio 2013.
Collecting is a method of obtaining useful items such as Consumables, Treasure Chest Keys, Pocket Pangs, Revert Transmutation Scrolls, and more. It's a source of income that you can utilize while you're away from the game if you leave it running. In order to collect, a character must reach level 151 then wield a Collector which can be purchased at the NPC "[Collecting Manager] Collins" near any of the 3 fields found in Flaris, Saint Morning, or Darkon. In order for the Collector to work, you will need to activate a Battery while holding it. Batteries power the collectors, but they deplete over time. Basic batteries can also be purchased at Collins, and you may receive upgraded and longer lasting versions of them from collecting over time.
The items that you can get via collecting will mostly come in "Pieces." Certain numbers of each piece will combine to form items, which will be listed lower. Pieces are NOT trade-able. Some items ARE. Details will be found below the piece list. This list is in order from easiest to obtain, to most difficult to obtain.
I would like to adopt the Pink Floyd Wiki. I just created an account, but I was the unregistered contributor that had been alone there since March. I do not think there are any other people there and I would like to work on it.SgtPepper1 21:43, June 28, 2010 (UTC)SgtPepper1
I would like to request bureaucrat and administrator rights on the Poptropica Wiki. I have several contributions there and the founder Greennave has not been very active lately. And I am one of the most active users with most edits. But mainly because editors are making up things for a fictional game called "Poptropica 2". I've made a fanon wiki but I have to delete those aticles and put them on the fanon wiki. Plus I noticed some problems on the main page that I could fix but it is locked to prevent vandalizm. The link to the wiki is in the title of the request. Have a good day,Blue Tornado 01:02, June 30, 2010 (UTC)
Hi I would like to be an admin on annoying orange wiki. Their is only 1 admin and he doesn't respond to my questions. I have a cool logo to put on the wiki and i am going to make a lot of edits.HazeShot 01:04, July 11, 2010 (UTC)
We are currently having trouble with the Spyro wiki. I am on everyday, but our current admin has not. The only thing about this wiki that he does now is read his talkbox and say nice things about my projects to improve our wiki. We have more help now, but since our last remaining admin is only on half the time. I have edited nearly 300 times, plus I am on everyday. I see a great future for the Spyro wiki, and I plan to make that come true, even if I don't have any status such as rollback. I reply to all questions nicely, plus I am able to spell many words correctly. I am also able to speak Spanish. Thank you for your kindness! UxieLover1994 11:39, July 15, 2010 (UTC)
-swift.wikia.com/wiki/Taylor_Swift_Wiki has no active administrators at all. So there is no one there able to import the 25 Taylor Swift articles from the Wikipedia [2] found in the template there, nor additional articles about songwriters and people she has worked with. I've made more edits than anyone else, doing a lot of work finding all of her interviews and home movies online and making links to them, and writing descriptions on what I saw when watching them. [3]
The person who founded this wiki on December 18, 2009, spent a total of 8 minutes [4] creating four empty stub articles, uploading two pictures, and writing an entire sentence for the main page. He hasn't been there since then.
The only other user ever, just changed the songs article from a blank stub to one with a large picture that takes up the entire page, and has nothing to do with her songs at all, plus copying some text straight from the Wikipedia word for word to her bio article without giving credit to the original source. [5](I searched for the first sentence in Google, and it matched the original Wikipedia article exactly).
I recently became one of the administrator on the manga wiki to save the manga articles continuously being deleted on the Wikipedia, and I then successfully imported thousands of manga related articles, and made a total of 6036 edits(most of that importing articles of course) [6]. I have made thousands of real edits on other wikis, remaining active here and on the official Wikipedia is well. I know it hasn't been 60 days since getting administrator rights on the last wiki, but I think that rule is just to prevent people from registering a dozen different wikis at once, then abandoning them without doing anything with them. That isn't the case here though, since my first day's actions(importing 25+ articles) will result in changing that from an empty space, to an actual Wiki, which will get Google search hits, and bring over additional contributors. The Please give me this wiki. Dream Focus 16:21, July 16, 2010 (UTC)
Hi. I see you haven't edited in about 8 days. We'll need to see some sustainable edits. Can you continue editing the wiki over the next few days? Let us know once you have and we'll re-review the request. Thanks! - Brandon Rhea(talk) 22:03, July 30, 2010 (UTC)
Excuse me, I was wondering if I can become an admin at Matrix Fanon Wiki seeing as the wiki has been inactive for some time. I just want to make the wiki popular and promote some guys from Spore Wiki to also help. I hate seeing unpopular or inactive wikis, so I want to become an admin and this one popular. Please can you make me an adminon Matrix Fanon Wiki? I have friends who would make very fine beurocrats and administrators. If you take a look at Spore Wiki, the guys there are very helpful and have created many articles. Please, make me an admin at Matrix Fanon Wiki and I will make it popular. the main page is protected and it seems the admin have not edited anything for 2 months, the first beta of the game is over and the second beta's starting at September. as i'm waiting for the second beta i want to gather info on the game, mostly because i'm bored. Aoyu 04:39, July 19, 2010 (UTC)
Hi. Thanks for providing a link. I'd like to see some sustained editing from you on the wiki before granting the rights, though, as you only have a few edits outside of the aforementioned template. Please be sure to continue editing over the next few days and we'd be happy to re-review this. Thanks! - Brandon Rhea(talk) 22:48, July 30, 2010 (UTC)
I've been working on the Gorillaz Wiki for a good couple of months and I was wondering if I could become an administrator of the site. I know of the sites previous administrator going by the name 2-J. However, he has not been active for a fairly long period of time. The site is mostly active through edits by various users without a known administrator. I would wish to become administrator to improve the Gorillaz Wiki's efficiency. My username is Radical Edward2. I am also the administrator of the Oddworld Wiki as well as the Loveless Wiki. --RadicalEdward2 16:22, July 19, 2010 (UTC)
