We have been asked by the Tour de Cure promoters if we would host a
training ride Sunday March 9th at 11am. I will need some volunteers
to lead out rides. I need 3 volunteers for the 10 mile ride around
the valley for beginners, and continue on for 12 more miles to
complete a 22 mile coarse. I will need 4 volunteers to lead out and
help with the more challenging 34 mile coarse out to St. Albans. This
is a great opportunity for our club to get invovled in helping others
with cycling while raising money and awareness for the American
Diabetes Association. I also think it would be a chance to have the
presence of our team to come out and join in the ride. Please post
here if you are willing to help on this training ride.

I'll volunteer to be a "lantern rouge" for one of the groups, doesn't
matter to me if it is the long or short ride.
I'll sit in back to help change flats and make sure those who fall off
make it back ok.

Hi Deanna:

I would love to help but I am too much of a wimp to get on a bike in
March. If there is something else I can do that does not involve riding a
bike in weather under 50 degrees let me know,

Linda

Linda,

Diane is going to be at our club tent, providing people with
information about our club and trying to get riders to participate in
the Tour de Cure with our team. If you would like to help her, I'm
sure she would appreciate it.

You guys are amazing! Thanks for stepping up to help out! I am so
excited to be a part of the Tour de Cure. Personally I have two
family members and a friend with diabetes. To be able to support
this cause while enjoying you bike is such a great bonus. It makes me
really proud to be a part of such a wonderful group like this; so
willing to help out when ever asked. Let's show people how well a
group ride can be done. Let'sencourage those who haven't been on
bikes since they were kids how much fun it can be and what a great way
cycling can help keep you fit. We are changing they way people think
of group rides here at Ghisallo (no drop and lots of support) and
that's a good thing. Thanks again for your help, we could not do this
with out you!

Hey all volunteers,I would like have a quick run through at 10am
before we lead out the rides at 11am. Remember to spring your clocks
forward the night before. Rick, Mina and Anthony will lead the group
out to St. Albans via the new route. John, Cristal and Devlin will
lead out the 10 mile loop that will drop the riders for the 10 miles
off by the store and continue on for another 12 miles. Sparky will be
in the van playing support vehicle during the ride. All leaders will
have his cell # and call him if you are in need of assistance. JT is
you are available I would love for you to join in on the St. Albans
ride. We are planning on about 150+ riders so it sould be really fun!

Hey gang, due to the extremely cold weather conditions we have made
the call to postpone the Tour de Cure Kick Off Training Ride this
Sunday to Sunday April 13th at 11am. We figured that most of us who
ride on a regular basis wouldn't ride in 22 degrees, so people that
are fair weather riders probably would not either. I hope that all of
our volunteers will still be able to help us out on the 13th. I will
keep you posted.

If anyone is interested in attendin the Tour de Cure Kick Off Party at
the Viking Conference Center, Friday March 14th at 7pm. Ghisallo will
have a table available for anyone on our team. Please let me know if
you plann on attending.

The Viking Conference Center is at the Holiday in in Sunset Hills;
Lindbergh and Watson Rd. If you need better direction you may call
314-821-6600.

Unforuntunately we don't not have maps for the routes available at
this time. it's one of those things that has been thought about but
put on the back burner. We may have to move it up the list.
