Velo in the Valley sponsor campaign

I wanted to remind all of you that we are still in need of sponsors
for "Velo in the Valley". If you do not have time to contact a
potential sponsor that you have a relationship with or don't feel
comfortable asking for $$ let me or any of the other officers know
and we will be happy to talk to them about the weekend's events. If
you have a lead please contact me, Jeff Kloha or Julie Harbor via
email and let us know so we may get in touch with them.

This is going to be a great weekend of racing and I thank you all in
advance for your assistance. We need to raise around $8000 to make
this happen and we are looking for all kinds of sponsors but we really
need primary sponsors that would be willing to listed as Gold, Silver
or Bronze race contributors.

Here is the message sent earlier to team members.

Dear Ghisallo team and club members:

As most of you are aware, Ghisallo Racing is hosting two events under
the name "Velo in the Valley" (Time Trial on Saturday, May 24th and a
Criterium on Sunday, May 25th). We are anticipating that these two
races in addition to the children's race and charity ride will draw
600+ participants! In addition to improving cycling in the region,
this event is also focused on raising funds for two local charities
(Bikes for Kids and Wings of Hope).

We need to raise a minimum of $8000 in sponsorships in order to make
this event possible. Attached you will find a copy of the sponsorship
packet we will use to promote and secure sponsors. Please familiarize
yourself with the contents of the packet so you are prepared to
promote the event and types of sponsorships to potential sponsors.

Next Steps.....
* Familiarize yourself with the details contained within the
sponsorship packets
* Think of potential target sponsors
* Coordinate your list of target sponsors with Greg Doering
(gddo...@charter.net or 636.346.6011)
* Pick up (2) professional quality sponsor packets from the Ghisallo
store
* Visit your identified targets before March 1, 2008
* Secure a minimum of (2) sponsorships prior to March 15, 2008

The following businesses are currently on our target list: Sheridan's,
Logans' Old Time Deli, Pets & Company, Susan Linns, Kaldi, Pasta
Pronto and Villa Ferotta. If you have any contacts with any of these
businesses, please coordinate with Greg.

We know that we are under tight time constraints and we really do need
your help! Team members who support the sponsorship effort will have
their race entry fee waived.

Remember your efforts will directly determine the success of this
event. Please help us make this one of the premier cycling events in
the St. Louis area!
