The March meeting was small, but fun. We met at Local Kine, John
Poetzel's place on 8th street.
We reviewed some camera framing techniques, talked about focal length
(subject in focus but background blurry for effect), and checked out
three videos. One was on a SteadiCam from the guys at IndyMogul/BFX
(YouTube clip here:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1vHvRiEUkU). We also
talked about the upcoming Intro to Film Production class at GHC.
I'd also like to address declining attendance. I know I haven't done
as good a job when I started at putting up posters or keeping you
informed. BUT - I can do better. I'm going to start by getting fliers
out at least 12 days before the meet. I'll also post them to the site,
so if anyone wants to put some up around their workplace or what have
you, it's easy access. Next, I'll work a little harder to promote the
group to others in the community. I know I have some friends who are
interested, and with a little convincing they'll get involved.
Lastly, I'll make extra special sure that the Intro to Filmmaking
class at GHC knows about us, and that the video departments at HHS &
AHS know about us.
Ta ta for now,
Ralph
