The processing limit for shortcut text, etc. seems to be approximately 2.6 MB.
In the rare case that the parsed data, which is usually a few hundred KB, exceeds this limit, the direct execution will time out and you will have to paste it into a memo application and delete the first half of the second and subsequent lines and retry.

I have created a shortcut that causes the default notification sound and then has Siri announce the battery percentage and says "time to charge." It Then enables low power mode. It isn't possible to share an automation, but it is possible to set up an automated trigger on your phone that will run this shortcut.
Just go to the Shortcuts app and tap the automations tab at the bottom. There will be a "create new automation" button in the top left corner. Choose that option for battery level and then pick run shortcut as the action.
I have attempted to share a link to my shortcut, but I don't know if it will work. I know you have to first run one shortcut, then go to Settings, Shortcuts, and enable use of untrusted shortcuts in order to use it.

This is what was said earlier this year. If someone could do a podcast on this it would be great.
This is an upcoming possibility in iOs 14.
In the Shortcuts app, you could create an automation, set it's trigger to a certain battery level. Then have the automation get battery status and make it say the status out loud with the speak text action. You could also make it switch to lowpower mode or do other actions you might need.

I have several of the ikea smart devices that run on the cr2032 batteries. I have the motion sensor, shortcut button and tradfri dimmer. Out of the bunch i only had to change the batteries on my motion sensor. I believe it might have been my fault why the battery died quickly as I dont think it had a good zigbee signal when checking groovy/ide at the time. It could be possible that the batteries were old too. I did place 2 ikea smart plugs around the garage as i suspect the wireless signal used on my garage when it opens and closes interferes. I also replaced the motion sensor batteries back in may last year and they are still hovering around 70%.

I would agree with @BlackRose67 as i suspect why my ikea battery powered devices are lasting long is that i have quite a few repeaters around the house. Bear in mind even though you may have bought them brand new they might have been sitting there for months.

I have the same complaint. I love the system and how I can easily set up devices and control them. When you have multiple battery-powered devices, it is unreasonable to expect us to regularly check the device status individually. I get tons of phone notifications from multiple apps, and I regularly miss a low battery notice. I usually figure out I have a problem when I see a light not working.

I think it would be useful to have a screen in the app showing battery status icons for all ring devices at once (alarm devices, cameras, etc). It would be much more convenient than clicking each device individually to find out which ones will need batteries charged or replaced soon.

I have a reasonable number (18) of the Ikea shortcut buttons and if I pair one or two of them up then they seem to work (albeit the battery level reporting seems very hit and miss as to whether you get anything shown or not) - I created a test automation just to toggle a socket on and off when a shortcut button is pressed and added buttons to HA (using a Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 dongle but I have several others and they all seem to do the same) adding them to the test automation as I go and I end up with earlier buttons no longer triggering the automation.

I can confirm.
Pairing with bulbs solved the issue with IKEA shortcut button.
Plus when you do that with IKEA remote with 4 buttons STYRBAR it can control the lights even when Zigbee coordinator is down.
Thanks m8

For easy access to the Charge Time shortcut, add it to your Home screen. Open the Shortcuts app and long-press the Charge Time shortcut. Tap Details > Add to Home Screen. Then just tap it any time you need charging info; no need to open the Shortcuts app.

Something to keep in mind: For the most accurate estimate, the charger matters. Apple-branded chargers (specifically 20W USB-C chargers, even if you have an older-generation iPhone) will work the best. If you use an off-brand charger with lower capabilities, it might take longer to charge than the shortcut estimates.

There may be much debate online over whether the battery percentage should be available at all times, how that should be displayed, and whether the battery lasts long enough in the first place. While battery capacity continues to improve with each new iPhone iteration, this shortcut can help you get even more out of your current phone.

While there are many ways to see the exact battery life left on your iPhone, you can take all the work out of it by making your iPhone verbally tell you the current percentage every time you start or stop charging it. Best of all, this trick works whether you use wired or wireless chargers.

In most cases, you can see your iPhone's battery level pop up on the screen whenever you begin or end charging, but it's there and gone before you even realize it. With a custom automation, you can get a spoken confirmation of your iPhone's current battery level, so you never have to worry about hunting for it manually.

In the "Automation" tab, tap the plus (+) sign, choose "Create Personal Automation," and select the "Charger" trigger. Then select "Is Connected" and "Is Disconnected" if you want Siri to tell you the battery level when you start charging your iPhone and when you stop. You could do one or the other if that suits you better.

Hit the search bar and find and select the second action, "Speak Text." If you stop here, Siri will only say the battery level as a number. For example, if it's at 46%, Siri will speak "46" instead; To change this, see Step 4.

To do that, tap in the field after "Speak" to place your cursor in front of "Battery State" or "Battery Level," then type what you want. For me, that's "My current battery level is." Then, move the cursor after "Battery State" or "Battery Level" and add the rest. For me, it's just "percent."

Tap "Next" after customizing how Siri will speak the text, then toggle off "Ask Before Running" on the next page. On the prompt, tap "Don't Ask" to make it a true automation instead of one that asks you if you want Siri to speak the battery level or not. Tap "Done," and you're ... done.

I've actually altered the start shortcut so when I say "Start the Pony" to my Apple Watch it not only starts the MME but speaks back a random phrase from a list (Get E up, Ready to Ride, etc.) I put in the shortcut. Geeky, but people that hear it get a kick out of it.

With a recent update to the Ford Pass security, the available shortcuts no longer work. Unfortunately, rather than add the feature it appears Ford just sent a notice advising against using the only available workaround (relaying through a 3rd party server for authentication).

This really should be added in as a capability, allowing me to lock/unlock, start/stop, close windows, etc. via Siri on my watch and my phone. In a perfect world, this might also make it so the shortcuts could be triggered as parts of different scenes. As an example, if someone has a scene setup for "going to bed" it could verify the doors are locked and windows rolled up as well.

I also used to have a shortcut that ran every night at 9pm, only if I was home, to tell me that my car was locked, if it was plugged in, and if it was charging. It was a nice nightly confirmation. Now, I have no way to confirm the doors are locked without going to the app and locking them again.

Windows 10 comes with a special feature called Battery Saver. It is intended to save your PC's battery by limiting background app activity and putting your device hardware in power saving mode. It is possible to enable Battery Saver automatically when on battery or turn it on manually. Here is how.

Now, you can move this shortcut to any convenient location, pin it to taskbar or to Start, add to All apps or add to Quick Launch (see how to enable Quick Launch). You can also assign a global hotkey to your shortcut.

Are you worried about leaving your iPhone to charge for extended periods and what it can do to your battery life? While your device notifies you when the battery percentage drops below 20% and 10%, there's no other way to know when it's fully charged without manually checking.
