NEW ADMINISTRATIVE REGION FOR SCRIPTURE UNION MINISTRY

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus, the Christ!

I am pleased to announce to you that Scripture Union Ghana has created a new administrative region for SU ministry. The new region is Upper West.

The Scripture Union operations in Northern Ghana have been supported by a single Regional Committee based in Tamale.

Infact, since 1975, field ministry has always been carried out by only one paid staff until 2006 when a staff was appointed to be solely responsible for the work in Upper West Region. This has not helped much to grow the ministry.

God-willing, on March 29^th & 30^th, 2014, the Upper West Regional Committee will be inaugurated.

For effective operations in the new region, the Head office has agreed to provide the following items:

§  A motor bike for field work

§  A steel cabinet

§  A laptop for staff

§  A printer

§  A modem for internet connectivity

In addition, the Head office undertakes to pay the staff’s salary for a period of five years and also within the same period, pay for the office space.

We will need to raise an amount of Twenty Four Thousand, Two Hundred Ghana Cedis (GH¢24,200; approximately $10,000). This amount will enable us to pay for the staff’s salary for one year and also to provide the items needed to kick start work in the ‘independent’ region. Please pray that:

1.    The region will see growth in terms of the ministry deliverables.

2.    The region will build sufficient capacity for funding of the ministry programmes and activities.

3.    The Head Office will find the resources needed for the inauguration on March 29^th and 30^th.
