Project Update + September Mobilization Event!

Dear All,

I must admit that it has been quite a while since most of you received communication regarding our on-going project. 

For the past couple of months, most of the work have been done at the 'working group' level and I want to thank this opportunity to thank all of you who have shown commitment to this project. We most privileged to have you on board.

So far we have successfully held our stakeholders meeting with key institutions to support our cause. We are also hopeful to meet other key government institutions to deliberate further.

We are now in the process of planning our next activity - YOUTH FORUM! and all hands are invited to support in the designing, planning and implementation of this activity.

SEPTEMBER MOBILIZATION:

As part of a global effort to mobilize action and ambition on climate change, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is inviting Heads of State and Government along with business, finance, civil society and local leaders to a Climate Summit in September 2014, New York.

The Summit is aimed at catalyzing action by governments, business, finance, industry, and civil society in areas for new commitments and substantial, scalable and replicable contributions that will help the world shift toward a low-carbon economy.

By catalyzing action on climate change prior to the UNFCCC Climate Change Conference in 2015, the Secretary-General intends to build a solid foundation on which to anchor successful negotiations and sustained progress on the road to reducing emissions and strengthening adaptation strategies.

For this reason, various activities or campaigns shall held all over the world prior to this Summit to create awareness on climate change issues and demand actions from world leaders or duty bearers.

Consequently, 350.org is supporting us with a small grant to hold an activity as part of the global campaigns. Our proposed activity is to hold an OPEN YOUTH FORUM where youth groups are expected to gather with youth leaders and climate activists presenting solidarity messages.

350 G-ROC will be glad to work with you in achieving common aims or goals.
