As a reminder, applications are currently being accepted for non-profit civil society organization (CSO) observers to the Climate Investment Funds (CIFs) [www.climateinvestmentfunds.org]. The newly selected civil society observers will serve a two-year term, beginning in January 2015.
The APPLICATION DEADLINE is Friday 19 September at 11:59 pm GMT.
To learn more about the application process, including the observer selection criteria, selection procedures and timeline, and background information on the CIFs and CIF observer roles, please visit www.resolv.org/site-cif.
To apply for a CSO observer seat, please complete the electronic application form available at www.resolv.org/cif.
Pre-registered CSOs will have the opportunity to vote on shortlisted observer candidates in October - November 2014. RESOLVE will circulate an announcement and link for voter registration the week of 8 September 2014.
In addition to this application process for non-profit CSO observers, the private sector and indigenous peoples' groups have separate processes for selecting their representatives as official CIF observers.

About the CIFs
The CIFs are a pair of funds - the Clean Technology Fund (CTF) and the Strategic Climate Fund (SCF) - aimed at helping developing countries pilot low-emissions and climate-resilient development. Each fund is governed by a trust fund committee with equal representation from contributor and recipient countries. The CTF Trust Fund Committee oversees the fund's operations, provides strategic direction, and approves and oversees programming and projects. The SCF Trust Fund Committee advises strategic direction for three targeted programs: (1) the Forest Investment Program (FIP), (2) the Pilot Program for Climate Resilience (PPCR), and (3) the Scaling up Renewable Energy Program (SREP).
