Summary:

A technical workshop focused on Firebase 2.0, Google's upgraded unified platform for Android, iOS and mobile web development.  Firebase is a unified Backend-as-a-Service (BaaS) helps you develop faster, improve app quality, acquire and engage users, and monetize apps with a brand-new analytics tool that ties everything together neatly.

This workshop will also provide opportunities for the community to interact with the facilitators' wealth of hands-on experience with the Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Android, User Experience (UX), Design Sprints, Startups and Developer Communities.



Overall objective of the event:

  • Get members familiar with Firebase 2.0

  • Create an atmosphere for knowledge sharing and networking




Success Highlights:

  • Awesome speakers and developer Experts.

  • Attendee turnout, largest level of participation in a while

  • Completion of the friendly chat app - link

  • Photos - link



Logistics/Planning

  • The almost 4 hours event was hosted at iSpace Foundation premises in Labone.
  • Enough space to contain all participants and organizers.

This event was made possible by the support of +Aniedi Udo-Obong, John Kimani, Femi Taiwo, Dario Mungoi, Dale Humby, Google Ghana , iSpace Foundation and the tech community in Accra.

Hello everyone,

I was impressed by the event on Saturday, I caught the tail end of it while coming back from another event.

Well done to the Doris, John and the GDG leadership.

Looking forward to seeing Google Developer Experts from Ghana leading similar events here and beyond.
