As part of ongoing efforts to promote community participation and collaboration, I introduce to you a project I hope this community will embrace wholeheartedly. Dubbed "Lets build a website", this project aims at fostering in us a collaborative nature, beginning with the most basic of tech related areas...building a website.

This project will be hosted on github, pitching teams against each other to come out with a website for Google Developer Group Ghana.

All technologies are welcome, however Google Tech will be looked upon favourably.

Marks will be awarded for meeting these criteria: {"Usability","Responsiveness","Aesthetics","Pagespeed Insights"}

Winners will as part of the reward have their website hosted as the official GDG Ghana website. Team members will have mentions and places of honour on the website as well. (good bragging rights).

I hope this project will set us on a fruitful journey of fun, collaboration and mutual benefit.

Teams will be formed randomly.

Please register at the link below.

Randomly? what if you already have a team you want to work with?

...its amazing how far we are able to go if we just let ourselves to go...
after all the binaries, there is a human that decides "What next?" so computers aren't so smart, we are!

Indeed, that will be most ideal-having your own team.
In fact that was the initial plan. However, to even things out and make newbies and novices get the hang of things and some sort of mentorship , the decision was to randomize things.
Please get your team members involved. It might not be smooth sailing with newbies, but the idea is to have fun whilst collaborating, which could mean ... with anyone.

Lets give it a try. :)

Its fine! I think we will all have fun with it. I might finally get someone to go errands like an apprentice unless am teamed with some killer gurus then that leaves me to the errands.

Is there a chance to rig the randomization?

Cant wait! :D
