BTW, that laptop is a waste of time... make sure u pay no one to do nothing for u its not a worthy investment... just keep the xp or sell it to someone who is now moving into computers while u get something else... something that was designed with users at heart not earning at heart and users at the butt side...

Forgive me if this thread is closed. But i want to say something on formatting. if you tried using the formatting option in windows xp or vista or 7 and it does not work, then use find a windows 98 CD and boot to DOS and format from there. I guess only low level format might work. I think even XP or new OS have a format DOS format when you book to command prompt only.

Going by the hard way, kindly remove the harddisk and connect to a different machine as an external drive and format it using cmd prompt.

You can slot it back to the rlg machine after formatting it and run a fresh installation from a bootable drive or external DVD/CD Rom.
