Hi everyone,
Trust you are well.

The UNICEF StartUp Lab, in collaboration with MEST Africa and HOPin Academy, is accepting applications for the AI for Nurturing Care: Accelerating Maternal, Newborn and Under-5 Survival in Northern Ghana Hackathon.

In Northern Ghana, long distances, transport costs, weak referral systems, fragmented records, and nutrition challenges can delay care and threaten the survival and development of mothers, newborns and young children.
We are calling on Ghana’s innovators to develop practical, safe, affordable, responsible, low-connectivity AI-assisted solutions that empower frontline health workers and caregivers through early risk detection, improved referral follow-up, local nutrition guidance, voice-first support, and smarter CHPS workflows.

Hack Benefits
• GHS110,000 in cash prizes. • Fully sponsored 3-day • Bootcamp in Tamale at HOPin Academy. • Expert mentorship from UNICEF, MEST Africa and HOPin Academy• Direct pathways to incubation, acceleration and real-world field piloting opportunities.

Team Requirements
• Teams of 2 to 3 members.
• For 2-member teams, at least 1 member should be based in the Northern region.
• For 3-member teams, at least 2 members should be based in the Northern region.
