Greeting again everyone,
I will be leaving for Accra on Thursday 21st so I will not be available after Tuesday. If you have questions or concerns please call me 404-313-0724.  If not, I will see you in less than a week. Below are reminders I sent last week for you all.  Have a safe trip
Sallay

1.      Please bring with you $1000-1500+ for your expenses.  You know your
spending habits, but I highly recommend that you bring at least $1000
for Ghana. Trust me, there are many things you would like to bring
back with you
2.      You will have access to ATM machines in Accra but you will get a
charge from your bank.  While you can use ATM cards, Dr. Agbényiga
does not recommend you purchase anything with a credit or debit cards.
Someone might steal your information and charge item under your name.
3.      Before you leave call your banking institution and tell them you
will be going to Ghana and the dates. If you are traveling anywhere
else tell them this information as well. Some banks will freeze your
account if they notice you used your ATM card outside the continental
US.
4.      Please bring with your large bills ($100) to change during the
first three weeks.  You should also bring smaller bills ($20s, $10s)
for the final week so that you get the “best bang for your buck”.
(see things to bring document).  The exchange rate is higher for
larger bills than smaller ones.  So you get a little less for $20s and
$10s.
5. For those of you who are worried, Dr. Agbenyiga and I will be there to pick you up when you arrive.
Sallay

Where are you picking us up from at the airport...right when we walk into the building off the runway thing from the plane? Or, is there someplace else we should go? Also, I'm a bit of a clean/germ freak, so I'm wondering if I should bring some handsoap for our house? Silly I know, but I thought I may as well ask. Thanks, I think these are my last questions!

I will pick you all up when you clear immigrations and customs outside of the airport.  People are not allowed to come into the airport.  You all should wait and come out as a group.  I will be outside (you will see an area where people are waiting to welcome others from your flight).  Remember as I have stated in the past, please say no to any help that is being offered with your bags.  I will have the bus driver there to assist us.  Just get your luggage onto a cart and push it on outside.  Kaley:  If it makes you comfortable to have your own soap I would agree with you having it.  It is not going to be a problem for you to have it.  Also, as noted on the things to bring sheet—you should bring hand sanitizer to carry with you as well.

Someone noted old magazines on the request for materials.  I would suggest that you each try to pack 2-4 old magazines.  I will be bringing all of the other materials.  I do  not believe that I will have space to add magazines as well.  This will allow us to share this load across the group.  Thanks!!  I look forward to seeing you all.  I will be leaving on Tuesday.  I will not available to respond to messages after 10 PM Monday Night.  Once in country, i will be making final preparations for your arrival.

Regards,

Is there a specific type of magazine or a particular topic?

Ebonee and Jordan have that listed under self-esteem.  If they could respond that would be great.  I think magazines with people of color would be great.  Essence, Ebony, Jet, Sports Illustrate, Disney, Travel (featuring MI).  those are my suggestions as I believe they would like to use the pictures for a project.

For the self esteem project I am bringing magazines such as ebony and essence. I also will try to bring some children magazines(nick jr.,highlights for kids) that list some fun crafts the children can do. If anybody else wants to bring some magazines they think will be helpful to the project they're welcome do.

See everyone in a couple of days!!
