Hello Speigei

I have the G615h. The supplied s/w is definitely "craptastic." I tried
posting something to the globalsat forum, but I think the moderator
will not post it since i complained about the cheesiness of the
supplied s/w!

I have your s/w installed, and i have been using it mostly for
waypoint upload (option "e"). It works fine, except for one thing: it
will not allow me to upload the longitude values in the customary
"negative" format (e.g. florida is "W -80 degrees") using your
"waypoints.txt" file. It is possible to enter the the "true" value
(e.g. 260) in the waypoint file, but then the uploaded waypoint
appears as "E 260" in the watch, and i can't see the waypoint in the
LCD.

Do you think this is something that can be done with your s/w?

Thanks

Hello Peter,

you are right, I must have missed the W/E S/N aspect (probably because
all my waypoints were E/N).

I will certainly look into this and I am positiv that this can be
corrected, after I am finished with my finals (one or two weeks togo).

Cheers,
Till

Ok TIll,

Thanks and good luck on your exams. As part of my public service I was thinking of trying to decode the "type codes" for the different waypoint icons. What are your thoughts?

In the meantime I will post little notes on your s/w website that helped me implement the waypoint option.

Take care...
