FOR
SMALL BUSINESS CLINIC
April 28, 2012
APABA-SV will be hosting our first Small Business Clinic in April
28,
2012 at the office of the Asian Americans for Community Involvement
(AACI) at 2400 Moorpark Avenue, San Jose. More details are to follow.
The Small Business Clinic will provide legal advice on commercial,
transactional, regulatory and intellectual property matters to emerging
and small businesses, primarily those owned by members of the Asian
Pacific Islander community.
Some of the services may include:
Business Financing
Review of lending contracts and advice about loans
Contract Review and Drafting
Including customer contracts, leases, noncompetition agreements, franchise agreements, licensing agreements, etc.
Debt Problems
Obtaining, reviewing and correcting credit reports
Employment Counseling
Including how to hire/fire employees, employee handbooks, employment agreements
Entity Selection and Formation
Including forming LLCs, corporations, partnerships, nonprofits, etc.
Intellectual Property
Including copyright and trademark creation
Regulatory Compliance
Including compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory bodies

need participation from as many attorneys and law students as
