Hi

After an upgrade from 2.14.2 to R 2.15.2 over the weekend for most (but not all) of our users R crashes when dcast() or ggplot() is run, regardless of how simple the example given to it. Below is a complete session after opening R with an empty workspace, attaching no libraries other than reshape2. Where should we start in troubleshooting this? What might be different in the set up for some users that causes this behaviour? The installation has been packaged so everyone should have had installed the same way, and the computers are all nearly identical.

Thanks for any pointers for where to look.

# Session 1

.libPaths("P:/r/libraries")
library(ggplot2)

# creates an immediate crash:
example(ggplot)

# Session 2
.libPaths("P:/r/libraries")
library(reshape2)
sessionInfo()

# following runs ok:
names(airquality) <- tolower(names(airquality))
aqm <- melt(airquality, id=c("month", "day"), na.rm=TRUE)
acast(aqm, day ~ month ~ variable) # reshape2 version

# Creates a crash:
dcast(aqm, month ~ variable, mean, margins = c("month", "variable"))

Here is the session info:
