qmplot - strange left/right map margin + points not projected onto the map correctly

Hey everyone,

I've tried to use qmplot to create a world map and then plot points over it. 

However, there are these margins to the left and right of the map. Also, the points seem to be projected as if the margins weren't there:

  

qmplot(longitude,latitude,data=my_world_data,source="osm",extent='panel')

Is this a bug in qmplot, or have I done something wrong?

(my_world_data has worked for me before, using ggmap(get_openstreetmap(...)).)
