problem with plyr -ddply

Folks
I am having some problems with ddply. I want to be able to split up a
dataframe, convert it to zoo, then aggregate the data from weekly to
monthly and stick it together as another data frame.
I can get it to write to a list in the way I want (using dlply) but
not to a dataframe. The error message says ... "Error in
list_to_dataframe(res, attr(.data, "split_labels")) : Results are not
equal lengths". But they both seem to me to be the same size (ie 7).
Any help much appreciated.

Could you provide a reproducible example please? It's hard to figure
out what the problem is without the original data.
