Dear Drs Gorjanc and Siard,

Thank you for your interest in The Biomedical & Life Sciences Collection. You will be happy to know that the University of Ljubljana has subscription access to The Biomedical & Life Sciences Collection.

Talks related to your research, instruction and interest can be viewed via this link:

www.hstalks.com/access

If you are off campus, you will be asked for a username and password which are:

Username:  LJUBLJANA

Password:   MEMBER

Should you have any queries, please feel free to contact me.

I would like to invite you to speak with me for a few minutes. I have been giving tutorials to academics around the world. I've spoken with individuals in Singapore, Stanford, Bonn, Ljubljana (some members of your library team), Johns Hopkins, Stellenbosch, and individuals at many more universities, research institutions and pharmaceutical companies worldwide. These briefings have been beneficial to all. I would be happy to speak with you for a few minutes and show you how you can use the talks, embed them in your courses, use them in eLearning, how to find the unique URL for each talk, how to do a proper search and how to narrow that search down so that you can find exactly what it is that you are looking for.

I aim to make myself available whenever you are. I would be happy to assist and help ensure that the university gets the maximum out of the collection.

Additionally, I have added your name to the list of contacts from Ljubljana who receive the monthly updates. (The collection is updated by approximately 15 talks per month.)

Please do feel free to contact me should you have any questions at all. I look forward to hearing from you soon with a time that would be good for us to have a chat. My goal is to assist you and ensure that you are getting the maximum from your subscription to the collection.

Have a great day!

Sincerely,

Beth

“This is an outstanding collection.  Alongside journals and books no self-respecting institution hosting research in biomedicine and the life sciences should be without access to these talks.”

Dear Nataša,

I have found this very interesting on-line resource that would be very valuable to my colleagues and students - especially for the study of genetics. I have asked for free trial and I got the message bellow which states that in order to gain free access(?) I need to forward it to library, though I am not sure our departmental library suffices. You will know better how to proceed.

Dear Dr. Gregor Gorjanc,

Thank you for requesting free trial access to The Biomedical & Life Sciences Collection. The collection provides immediate access to over 1,000 online seminar style talks containing the latest research and developments as well as the fundamentals presented by many of the world's leading experts including a number of Nobel Laureates.

As well as assisting researchers to stay up to date with developments in their fields and to quickly immerse themselves in new areas, the talks can be used in graduate, advanced undergraduate and distance education. At a time when universities are looking for ways to become more productive and faculty are being asked to do more with less, the collection is ideal.

The collection is now being used by top universities around the globe and has been recommended by Nobel Laureates, Deans, Department Chairs, Librarians, Faculty and students.

Access to the collection may be purchased via an Institution, Departmental, Research Group or Individual License.

For an institution wide free trial, please refer me to the appropriate senior administration member or librarian. Please copy (CC) me to your email to help ensure that we can set up your access as soon as possible.

Best regards,
