Hello users and devs,

Devs, thank you so much for your hard work on GGobi.  I have been using it for over a decade and have lost count of the number of projects and solutions that GGobi enabled for me and my teams.  It is a great pleasure to talk with you.

I have made a project which I am hoping may be a spiritual successor to GGobi which I am tentatively calling Mojave.   If you have time, please see a video I made for documentation

Again, I greatly value your opinion and your work on GGobi!

Thanks for your time,
-Kevin

Hi Kevin,

This is awesome!! I’ve watched your video, and am excited to download and play with mojave. I think you should call it mmojave, to match ggobi, or mojavepy!

So glad that this email address still works.

Thanks, I am happy you are enjoying my labor of love!  I don't know if Mojave has legs, but the ideas behind GGobi will certainly live on in me and others that it has touched.

Dianne, your suggested name mojavepy is most welcome!  (mojave_eda was my previous idea for a package name.)

I tried making an Ubuntu (debian) package, but am finding ctypes and python/C to be difficult for debuild to sort out.  But, it is frustrating to ask the user to install all the SDL dependencies themselves.  My plan is to look more into pip to see if I can get a solution.  But my initial look makes me think that pip still will not install the required SDL libs.  Also pip already has a "mojave" project (not mine), so I would need to use "mojavepy".  If anyone knows about these sorts of things, please email me separately.

Cheers,
-Kevin
