Fwd: SOLIDARITY FOR PEACE - PRAYER BY CHILDREN

Dear Friend,
“If we are to reach real peace in this world and if we are to carry on a real war against war, we shall have to begin with children; and if they will grow up in their natural innocence, we won’t have to struggle; we won’t have to pass fruitless idle resolutions, but we shall go from love to love and peace to peace , until at last all the corners of the world are covered with that peace and love for which consciously or unconsciously the whole world is hungering”.

As per the appeal made by friends and peace makers to join Gandhian community in India and extend solidarity for peace and harmony, we have chosen with our prayers of the children in Gandhigram and SivaSailam unit as per the above wishes of Gandhiji to begin with the Children and conducted interfaith prayer meeting.
The children themselves participated and followed the traditions of interreligious prayer and prayed individually with the following common prayer translated in Tamil individually for world peace and harmony.
SOWBHAGYA ILLAM CHILDREN
PRAYER FOR
PEACE
We, the Children of this Earth, offer this Prayer for Peace to the Supreme Intellect, our Creator, the unseen Power that protects us from all types of evil and leads us in the path of righteousness and goodness.
While we have the right to enjoy the wealth of this Earth, we realize that it is our duty to conserve it and pass it on to future generations. So no one has the right to destroy it in the name of war and terrorism and also by over-indulgence.
We pray to the Almighty to purify our hearts with truth, love, mercy, forgiveness, and compassion and to accept others as they are. Please let us be aware that it is only this one Earth that we have to live in and cherish in peace and harmony.
We pray that our world leaders desist from war, and instead, unite for peace and stop all efforts to divide people in the name of national boundaries.
We join Mahatma Gandhi in saying this: “Prayer is the only means of bringing about orderliness and peace and repose in our daily acts...., It is the most potent instrument of action.”
O Creator, we submit ourselves in humbleness and hope that our Prayers may be heard.

The prayer wheel is about bringing Peace and harmony in our Global community.
Let us live in Peace and Harmony to keep the land and all life in balance. Only prayer and meditation can do that”.

We are happy to note already that initiative has been taken for cease fire and indications are noted in the horizon and hope all the prayers of the world community will be heard and Peace and Harmony will prevail proving that Gandhian values and philosophies will stay ever.
