Matches: All Matches will be played at Blackhawk Golf Course on Wednesday. Tee Times are 4:30 to 5:30. You must wait until 5:00 for your match to show. PLEASE TRY TO BE ON TIME!!
2. Dues: $$90 league dues will be due by the 1stnight , April 9. The additional amount $TBD for Canton will be due July 16th. If dues are not paid on time you will be subject to expulsion from the league and will receive NO POINTS until the dues are paid. If dues are not paid you are not permitted to participate in any league event ie. Skins, Low Net, Proximity or Birdie Hole. Make all dues arrangements with the Treasurer. All members are required to pay the full dues. A PENALTY OF, $10.00 Will Be Assessed for Late Payments ,
3. Handicaps: Handicaps will be based on 80% of your average scores -36. Handicaps will be adjusted every week. For the first 7 weeks last years' average will be used to create a total of eight (8) scores. The maximum handicap will be 18. If a member is absent and has not golfed off then his average will be used to determine handicap. No strokes greater than your average +four (4) strokes will be used in the handicap calculation. Example if your average score is 48.4 and you shoot a 54 the 54 will count toward that day's match but only 52 will be used toward your handicap.
4.Playing the ball: You may roll the ball everywhere except in a bunker. The Rules committee shall decide before play begins if “Lift clean and place” are in order. If your ball is not out of bounds you must play it unless you determine that you have an unplayable lie. You may then move the ball two (2) club lengths and drop the ball taking a stroke penalty.
Putts may be conceded if “Inside the leather” your opponent must concede the putt.
THE USE OF PUTTING BALLS IS PROHIBITED
5. Rule Infractions: If you have any dispute about an infraction of the rules bring it to the attention of your opponent at the time it occurs all disputes will be settled by the rules committee (Darryl and Billy) at the completion of the round. Anyone accused of shaving strokes by two (2) or more members of his foursome will be placed on probation and on the next occurrence will be expelled form the league forfeiting all dues and privileges.
6. Out of Bounds or Lost Ball: Penalty is stroke and distance for Tee shots. If you’re not sure hit a provisional ball. All Other shots will be played as a lateral hazard, stroke but not distance.
7. Golf Offs: You can golf off any time between the week we play a nine and the next time we play that 9. No Golf offs will count if the card is turned in after the scheduled match. Scores can not be called in. Try to golf off with another league member if possible. No more than two (2) golf offs for the each period.
8. Disqualification from the league: Any member missing three (3) consecutive weeks without a legitimate excuse or seven (7) league matches will revert to guest status. You will not be entitled to league prizes. Golf offs will not count as being present for at least thirteen (13) of your matches. Also see Infraction of rules.
9. Points scoring: Everyone playing on league night will be awarded ½ point for attendance. One (1) point will be awarded for match play (holes) and one (1) point will award for medal play (strokes). Total each week is 2 ½ points. Members golfing off can win one point each for match and medal. If you are absent you get zero (0) points. If your opponent is absent and has not golfed off you must play against his average score +2 STROKES to earn the point for medal play (strokes). You will be awarded one point for the match play (holes) and ½ point for attendance.
10. Guests' Outing guests are eligible to win league prizes.
11. Handicap / Injured person only: If carts are not permitted on the course members' average score will be used for the match.
12. Rain outs: If the weather is questionable, at approx.4:30, a vote will be taken to determine if play will count as an official round.
A simple majority of members present will determine if play will count or not.
What we are voting on is whether the scores will count or not. If you want to play, play.
In the event of a rain out we will use the scores from the cards the next time we play the same 9.
If we play and your match is completed it will stand regardless of whether everyone finishes or not.
Only members present on the day of the rain out will be given the ½ point for being present.
13. Vacancies: Names of persons wishing to become members will be submitted to the officers and voted on by all league members.
14. Prizes: We will have 3 periods consisting of eight (8) weeks each with four (4) divisions. The four (4) division winners from each period will advance to the playoffs plus 1 wildcard (highest point totals for non-division winners and ties). Anyone winning their division for all 3 periods will get a bye for the first round of the playoffs. At the conclusion of the each period we will redraw the divisions based on handicap. Prize money will be determined at a later date by the league officers.
15. Playoffs There will be 4 division winners and 1 wildcard each period. The wildcards will be the players (and ties) with the highest point totals that didn’t win a division.
During the Playoffs any ties will be determined in Sudden Death play, beginning on hole number 1 of the 9 being played that night, using handicaps.
16. Gold tees: Seniors (62 and older) may play from the GOLD tees. Once play is started they may not change tees. If your handicap is based on the Blackhawk White tees you must play the white tees at the outing courses.
