This is a full-time position based in New Brunswick, NJ, in Rutgers' Division of Continuing Studies. The Division covers mostly non-credit programs for children, high schoolers, college students, professionals, off campus students, government workers, veterans, and retired persons. We are also the hub for Rutgers' online programs, and our department shares a suite with the online degree team and Virtual Worlds. Because we are NJ's state university we receive excellent state benefits and free or discounted access to Rutgers resources as well as tuition remission. Our team manages the websites for the many units of our division. We also take on projects from other units of the University, and even external clients. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop modules for Drupal, and work with our Application Developer on apps like the noncredit registration system. We are also becoming involved in mobile development, both responsive websites and apps. Our department provides varying levels of support to our client, and the Web Developer will be asked to respond to and resolve support tickets that fall within their purview. (We don't fix printers.) The Web Developer may also be involved in the conception of new projects, which may include interacting with clients, and assessing strategy, capabilities, resources and timelines. We are a small team, so there is much opportunity to get involved in a number of ways.
