Hi Gang

Sorry about the earlier particle message.  I hit the wrong button.  Here is the rest of it.

Big Squeeze!
Well, crunch time is over, now it is the Big Squeeze!  All the things we have been talking about now have to get done and we don't have a whole lot of time to squeeze it into.

Here's the deal.  If we can get 1000 people to show up, that would be $5000 in cover charge alone.  Not bad!  But if they would spend just $10 more once they get inside, that would bring our total to $15,000, which is basically our goal.  We just have to somehow get 1000 people to show up.

I have been handing out the handouts (which sorta makes sense) to stores all over town.  I have also ran into signs all over town where other people have already been there.  Fantastic!  We also were in the newspaper last night.  Not the big, attention grabbing article I had hoped for, but at least if was free.  We should also be on the Washington Theater Marque, or at least we should be shortly.  Jim Lawrence from WGEM said he would get it up there. I have also been to most of the churches and factories in Quincy and most said they would put the handout up where the parishioners and employees could see it.  Bill Dillman has been on the radio I think twice, with like three more interviews to go.

But as any advertising exec will tell you, to get 1000 people to show up, we must get a absolute minimum to 10,000 "impressions".
So that is why the email I sent out yesterday, or maybe the day before is so important.  Be sure to ask, in fact beg if you must, that whoever you send it to forward it on the all their contacts and that those contact in turn forward it on to their contacts. (Of course, if their contacts are in like Budapest, we may just possible forgive them for not contacting them.)

Remember: We Get A 1000, We Got It Made!

Other Stuff to Get Ready

List of Live Auction Items for Auctioneer - Jim Freels
Bid Sheets for Silent Auction - Janet Kurjanski
Power Point Presentation for Silent Auction - Janet Kurjanski
Power Point Presentation for Live Auction - Jim Freels
Press Release for the Auction - Jim Freels
List of Donars - Diane Dietrick
Finish Final Baskets - The Brew Ladies and their assorted assistants.

All of these are started or finished, but because we still have some items coming in, we will not be able to finalize the everything until we get together and determine what we have, and if we are going to present it in the silent or live auction.

We sorta planed to meet Friday night at the Kurjanski's to get everything finalized, but Janet and Paul couldn't make the meeting, so "Surprise!!!"  Seriously Janet and Paul, if this conflicts with you schedule, let us know.

In Addition, we don't want to put everything off till the last minute, so if any one has anything for either auction they have yet to get to Janet and Paul's, or hasn't yet sent the details to Jim or Janet, please sent us a description, or better yet, a picture and description, so we can get started on them.

Still Other Stuff to Get Ready

Bid Number Signs for Live Auction Bidders to Hold Up - Who was going to do this?  I know Shari had purchased some orange card stock for the signs, but then we changed our minds.  Don't remember who was going to put these together.

Money Aprons -  I understand Katy Lotz was going to see if we could get some from Lowe's.  That would be nice.

Orange Shirts -  It would be nice if we would all wear orange tops to signify that we are "staff".  Orange is optional, but it would be nice.  Color of the pants was not discussed other than everyone should wear some.

Transport of Items to the Auction - If everyone would come by the Kurjanski's on Saturday, I'll get back to you on the time, and load their car up with baskets, etc., and then be at the State Room Sunday at 8 am, we will get that done.  If you can't make the Sunday at 8am, please don't delay the rest of us by having a bunch of stuff at your home.  Time will be of the essence Sunday morning and we don't really want to do things twice because someone will be bringing stuff in later.

Press Coverage.- Bill Dillman, are you going to alert the media?  Everyone is entitled to 15 minutes of fame and I can't think of a better way to get it.  (OK, I can, but we don't have a bear skin rug and Shari said "No Way!!!  Darn it!!)

Alert, Alert, Alert!

We are having trouble getting a second projector for the Power Point Presentation.  Actually, even a third would be nice.  Anyone who can get one, or two, let us know.

All,

I will let you know about Friday. We are going to try to finish what
remains without the need for another Friday meeting. I will let you know
for sure and also when to stop by on Saturday to load your cars.

Thanks.

Hi Paul

Thanks for the note, but not only do we have to finish up the basket, but we have to determine which items are going to be sold as Live Auction items and which are going as Silent Auction items.  Once that is determined, we need to complete various documents and get them into the correct hands.  I would rather not do that late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.  If we could meet Friday, that would avoid a lot of last minute rush, but I don't want to inconvience you either.  Just let me know what would work best for you.

Thanks

Jim

All -- the live auction items are now in Jim's capable hands.  Baskets are basically done. No meeting at the Kurjanski's this Friday.  Will let you know about what time to pick up baskets on Saturday.

Thanks.

Everyone,

Thanks Paul.  Everyone.  No meeting at the Kurjanski's Friday night
It looks like we have everything in hand, if not completely done.

If you still have stuff that has not in the hands of either Jim (Live Auction) or Janet (Silent Auction), Please, Please, Please get us the information ASAP.

We need pictures and detail descriptions and minimum values, if any.

We would really like to get as much done as possible before Sunday.  I think we will have enough to do that morning.

Thanks

I have the framed pictures that I will bring in the morning on Sunday. I will provide a list of each, with minimum bids to Jim, some time today.

Yes, thanks Jim!  I second this request.  Also, I noticed IEC on the list of donors, but I don't have them on my silent auction list.  Does anyone know more about this donation?

Thanks - Janet

Janet here...not John, but I did receive sunglasses that both Shari and Lillian have staked their claims to!  Jim frills picked it up this am.  So it is official now, they should be on the donor list.
