Hi Gang
Well, in lieu of receiving no objections, in fact, receiving no comments at all, I have gone ahead and scheduled the Used Book Sale for Saturday, 30 April, at Melrose Chapel. I think I would like to get it started around 8 or 9 am and go till about mid afternoon. I want to catch the Garage Sale crowd and the Saturday morning breakfast crowd. Won't need a lot of volunteers at the sale itself, but would really appreciate some help getting the books to the church, and with set up the tables once we are there.
When to closed down would be based on when we sell out, or get too bored to stand around. My guess would be around 2 or 3pm.
I did not get anyone commenting on a bake sale, so I am going to ask the ladies of the church if they would like to hold one at the same time. I was going to suggest they could use the occasion to raise money for the church, and also suggest they could donate a percentage to GGBF.
Hey, folks! We only have about another $2500 to go to get to our goal, and it would be really great if we maintain our enthusiasm just a little longer and get to $30,000. Perhaps this won't take us all the way, but it might.
I am going to the Herald-Whig, WGEM, KHQA, and the other places to get advertising. I have attached both a Microsoft Word and a PDF file of the handout to this email. I will do what ever it takes to get as close as possible to 30 grand. But I will need a little help.
I need help posting the handouts, and I need help getting more books. I need novels. I don't have any more room here at home, but if everyone could somehow come up with a couple of hundred more novels, hardbound or paperback, that would be great. Or even jigsaw puzzles. You can drop them off Friday night at set up, or Saturday morning early before we open.
Thanks
Jim
