Hi Gang
As it stands right now. the Used Book Sale will be held at Melrose Chapel, 36th & Payson Road, of Saturday, April 30th, and perhaps Sunday, May 1st. I reserved the Fellowship Hall both days thinking it would be nice to have it all day Saturday, but it also would be nice to have it just Sunday after church. How do you all feel about it? We would have to set up Friday night for the Saturday gig, or Saturday after noon for the Sunday thing. I would need several people, preferable with pickups or vans, to help me move all these books, like maybe 2000. Jim & Cindy Winston and Audie & Lynn Breeden also have some 600 to 700 at their homes.
A lady at the church asked me if the Church Ladies could hold a bake sale at the same time. I also remember someone ( Sorry, I've forgotten who. You know how ol'Jim's memory is getting. Or is if John's memory? George's? No, he's the sick guy. Whoever! )asking if our own Brewmeister Meister's (our wives and/or girlfriends) could also hold a bake sale. Maybe we could do both, what do you think?
I will be posting a handout (another one?!!) on Google Documents shortly.
As of a few minutes ago, we now have $27,593.52 in George's account. That is after all the bills for the Auction have been paid. A fantastic job everyone, but let's not loose it when we are this close to our goal. Just another $2500 to go!
Keep asking for the book donations, hard bounds or paperbacks, it doesn't matter. Novels are nice. We are, quite frankly, have enough old textbooks, but don't turn people down. You never know what might sell. If you need me to pick them up, just give me a call.
217-242-2065. Shari and I will find some place to put them.
Thanks for all your help.
Jim, (or John,or George, or Whatever)
