Hello;
In other words: Has this moderated group become (at least unofficially!) an alternative to (the heavily spammed) comp.lang.fortran discussion group ??
Regards.

Only for questions related to the the free g95 Fortran compiler, so you might want to check if that compiler has whatever problem you want to ask about..

By the way, you might want to check the success to chasing spammers out of comp.lang.fortran, now that at least two people are reporting nearly all the spam to Google Groups, the main place where it's posted.

Do you see an octagon above with a ! character inside?  If so, clicking on it is the start of reporting spam for the first time.  However, Google Groups requires that it be reported by two different people before they will do much about it.  At least they make the starting point for a second spam report much more obvious.

There's another group you might find more appropriate, since it's not limited to the  g95 compiler:

FORTRAN resources

Remember the description of this group, which says that it's for discussing the g95 compiler only.

I removed the message sending people to comp.lang.fortran. The
description now says: "General questions on Fortran are welcome."

That’s very encouraging for Fortran users who’re trying to avoid comp.lang.fortran.
