Calling All Athletes – 50 and Older
Registration is Now Open For
Montana Senior Olympic Summer Games
In Great Falls, June 20-22, 2013
The Montana Senior Olympics Committee is proud to announce that Great Falls will be the site for Montana Senior Olympics again in 2013. Great Falls hosted the games in 2011 & 2012 and have been selected again as the host site for the 2013 and 2014 Montana Senior Olympics.
Mark the date and plan now to participate. Many people don’t consider themselves as seniors who fall into the age bracket to compete; the games are open to individuals 50 years of age and over. Sports include Archery, Basketball, Bowling, Cycling, Field and Track, Golf, Horseshoes, Racewalk, Racquetball, Road Race, Swimming, Table Tennis, and Tennis, and include several events within each sport. The Softball Tournament will be held later in the summer at the Multi-Sports Complex, August 17-18.
Registration is now open; the registration deadline is June 7. The registration fee is $10 plus any applicable event and facility fees. Complete registration information and forms are available on the Montana Senior Olympics web site at www.montanaseniorolympics.org. Forms are also available in Great Falls at the Park and Recreation Office, Community Recreation Center, Natatorium Swimming Pool and the PEAK Health and Wellness Center.
One of the highlights of the Montana State Senior Olympics will be the Alive@5 event, Thursday, June 20, 5:00-9:00 p.m. in Whittier Park. This will be a large community-wide event; the evening will include live music by 49th Street Blues Project, food, drink, games, and a festive atmosphere to kick off the games. A large area will be set up for athletes and their guests, with tables and chairs, providing the opportunity to socialize with fellow participants. The event is FREE! Those that attended the event last year had a fantastic time; what a great way to start your weekend and a wonderful opening to the Montana Senior Olympic games!
The Awards Banquet will be Friday, June 21th at the Holiday Inn and will include entertainment and presentation of the Montana Senior Athlete of the Year Award.
