call for proposals: 9th GF Summer School

Dear GF Community,

Some of you may have thought about the possibility to organize a GF Summer School, and the next one is your opportunity. The ideal date for it is August 2025 if high up on the Northern Hemisphere, around Xmas if that is closer to your summer.

Proposals should be sent to Inari and Aarne (addresses in cc), by 15 December. We are sorry for the tight schedule, but in this way, we can settle the place and the dates around New Year.

What we expect from your proposal is:

- organizing persons and institution

- dates (a stretch of two weeks, starting on a Monday and ending on a Friday); you can give several alternatives of those

- confirmed venue, e.g. in university premises, which will be free of charge for the participants

- any sponsoring possibilities, either confirmed or planned; indicate what they could cover, e.g. invited speakers, coffee breaks, lunches, dinners

- some nice pictures or other material about the venue

- descriptions of accommodation options and estimates of prices

- travel options and estimates of travel costs from different parts of the GF world

Soon after 15 December, we will arrange a poll via this gf-dev list, if we have competing proposals. If there is only one, we will fix the dates before Christmas. If there is none, we'll see...
