The sleek silhouette is reminiscent of a pair of half chaps being worn over a paddock boots. The contrast of the leather colors is visually appealing. And the Ariat logo badge on the side, along with the buckle at the top edge of the boots add lovely additional style details.
Another terrific feature of the Coniston boots is the full length back zip. The full zip helps the Coniston boots have such a lovely fitted silhouette of the boots. And the lace up front allows for additional adjustability, to ensure that I can get the perfect fit.
It is definitely noteworthy that the Coniston boots come with two pairs of laces. They arrived already outfitted with a pair of elastic laces. A second pair of cotton laces is included, which offers a slightly different look and fit. The Coniston boots do also have spur rests.
Taking the Coniston boots on/off is made easier with the help of the full length back zipper. I personally like the pull tab that makes for an easy pull on, and the easy off heel kick feature. Both may not seem like a big deal, but little innovative features make a difference.
The Coniston boots do more than simply keep my feet warm in the saddle. They also perform like a champ when they are in the irons, thanks to the stirrup friendly outsole. The ATS Max Technology also provides stability, support and helps reduce my foot fatigue.
What I absolutely love about the Coniston boots, is their versatility. The fact is, a pair of boots is a big investment. In my life, the Coniston boots get a lot of wear time. Wearing them at the barn and in the saddle is terrific, because they were made for performance.
I bought a pair of Heritage Contours back when they were like $280 in 2012, and I still have them and use them (there was a 7 year gap in riding in there to be fair). They were fine when I was younger and even though they still technically fit fine, they are hell on my feet - rub my ankles in all these weird spots, give me a massive blister behind one of my knees. I have heard of other people having the same issue with pairs of Ariats over time. That combined with the cheapy feeling and look of their boots nowadays pushed me to spend a couple extra dollars for a BEAUTIFUL pair of Deniros that was a much better value.
I gave up on Ariat tall boots a while ago, and then was seduced back because my beloved Mountain Horse were getting way too expensive and the quality went down. But I immediately regretted it and have sworn off new Ariats again. I even tried just the paddocks (Gore H2O), and they fell apart within a few months, without getting much use other than just going to the barn (I ride in tall boots).
We are generally able to complete basic repairs on Ariat boots within 2-5 business days of receiving them at the workshop. This extends to 1-2 weeks for most specialist repairs and longer for more complex repairs and restorations.
If you will be using our free shipping service (rather than dropping off and picking up your boots at the workshop), then you should also factor in shipping time via Australia Post. This varies depending on your location, but generally takes no more than a few business days if you're in a metropolitan area and otherwise up to 5 business days (if you're in a regional or remote area).
Yes, we stock a wide range of premium leather care products you can use to extend the life of your Ariat boots. We'd be happy to ship these to you. Simply mention what you're looking for while completing our online order form (if you're also planning to get your boots repaired), or reach out (if you're not planning to get your boots repaired).
And whenever your boots are in transit (whether on their way to our workshop via Australia Post or on the way back to you via courier), you'll have a parcel tracking number and receive real-time shipping notifications by email.
Hmmmm. Of all the styles, I decided to try Ariat terrain boots because I love to walk along side my horse on the trails. I figured a terrain boot might be the best option for me. A cross between a hiking boot and a riding boot. Oh, and it may as well be waterproof, so I got the H2O version.

Founded in 1993, Ariat was the first to integrate athletic footwear technology into boots for equestrian athletes. While Ariat is best known for their high quality and durable cowboy boots, they also sell a variety of clothing, footwear and accessories for kids and adults. Visit the Ariat Brand Shop on Mule Alley to shop the latest western gear for you and your family!
A staple in cowboy boots and the western wear industry, Ariat boots were founded by Beth Cross and Pam Parker in Union City, California in 1993. The brand has become popular from the very start, over time becoming the official footwear of the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF), the Federation Equestrian International (FEI), and Professional Bull Riding (PBR).
Again, Secretariat has been the source of inspiration for the name Two24 because he earned the title of Triple Crown champion by winning the Belmont Stakes with a record time of 2 minutes and 24 seconds. This iconic line includes expertly handcrafted boots and shoes made of premium leather with exceptional attention to detail inspired by the equestrian style.
Outsourced or not, each pair of Ariat boots goes through a rigorous quality check to make sure consumers get only high-end products that guarantee high performance, durability, and comfortable fit. Moreover, Ariat works with multiple global suppliers to get only the highest quality materials for their footwear.
The equestrian world swears by Ariat boots for a good reason. As we mentioned, their boots are crafted with high-quality materials and go through strict quality checks, even though most of their footwear is outsourced.
Ariat works with various environmentally-conscious organizations and programs, including the Leather Working Group, which sets environmental standards within the leather manufacturing industry. They also work with Bloom, a program that uses reclaimed algae in the soles of some of their shoes, and BLUESIGN, which makes sure materials are made with sustainably responsible resources and processes.
The WorkHog boot will take you to the end of the world with its platform delivering superior cushioning, shock absorption, and stability. Both durable and comfortable, these boots are made to withstand challenging environments. They are particularly useful in oil and gas exploration.
These boots have composite safety toe caps, guarding your feet against impact and compression. Meanwhile, their waterproof PRO construction with an impermeable barrier keeps your feet dry regardless of the weather.
Big Rig Ariats are super-comfortable due to their anti-fatigue insoles and FLX Foam midsoles, offering lightweight cushion and rebound. A pair of these will work as hard as you do thanks to their durable oil- and slip-resistant outsoles. Like their cousin above, they are made with Goodyear welt construction, adding to their overall durability.
The last on our list, but far from the least, Groundwork boot is made for all-around wear and is ideal for factory, construction, farm, warehouse, and ranch work. They are super easy to wear thanks to their platform, which provides comfort and traction on various surfaces.

To my young teenage brain, the gel footbeds were peak technology. And I wore these boots all summer from dawn to dusk, mucking stalls, catching a ride when I could, feeding, tacking, and caring for equines. They were comfortable, broke in quickly, and safe in the saddle. They also lasted, and this was a key point for a kid paying her own way around horses.
And that said, the store bustled. The few times I stopped in, the space was packed. People clamored for boots, and it showed. However, the actual product lines were limited to new, seasonal offerings. And in Texas, Ariat certainly focuses on the cowboy boot and Western wear, versus the paddock boots and breeches of my youth.
Ariat, back in the day, was the first to nail hybrid performance footwear for human athletes in the equine world. It had to look traditional; it had to be comfortable. Today, that technology-forward mindset dominates its performance footwear, and it also bleeds into lifestyle footwear as well. The gel footbed that I recall continues to evolve toward bigger, better things.
As Ariats always have for me, they feel superb in the saddle and great when on my own two feet. When I pick up an older Ariat boot and the newer Bantamweight, the weight difference is obvious. This technology has made it into my perma-lineup of riding gear.
