Hello all

Great to find a GEVCU resource which is still active. Shame about Jack, I actually visited him at EVTV a couple of years ago and spent a couple of hours in conversation, really nice, smart guy.

My problem:

I successfully used a GEVCU6 in my conversion and have now covered 5000km+ and would now like to use regen when pressing the brake pedal as well as when backing off the throttle and to that end have integrated the existing brake pressure sensor into GEVCU via AIN2. The signal is read properly and I have setup B1MN, B1MX, BMINR and BMAXR appropriately.
When the analog brake feature is ENABLEd, GEVCU no longer responds to a throttle input. DISABLE'ng it again resumes normal operation.

What am I missing?

Many thanks in advance!

John

Oh wow, I didn't know about Jack until now. Although we've had our share of disagreements, I must say that without him, I wouldn't be driving my own conversion now - or probably a rusty old VW Golf instead of a Volvo S80. Brian and he really inspired me and certainly many others to just do it and climb the mountain step by step until you've reached the top.

Regarding your brake/throttle problem: make sure, B1MN is higher than the value reported when no pressure is applied. Otherwise GEVCU thinks you're slightly pressing on the brake. Brake input takes precedence over throttle input and the latter will be ignored.
