Structured approach to re-accessing my GTD system?
What works what doesn? what's missing?
What type of data; what are you collecting, indicators that lead to goals --> what is your outcome you wish to achieve?
Example: too many calendar, and email address (things that are problematic)
Make a review of outcomes are you making accountability towards those?
What's anchoring your system? Review horizons of focus
Find an ally or like minded person and discuss with them
Looking past outcomes...doing a full assessment what are the pieces that are driving you to action.. are they all working in unison?
Looking past GTD as the main goal..find another focus within system. revisiting mindset after WR and use that to leverage gaps in your setup then perform assessment
Backwards Planning can it be applied to smaller projects (e.g health forms)
Stephen Covey first define and visual outcome; even the minor stuff
Example for a date doing a backwards calendar from pickup time; what all the tasks you do before. Access times to those steps
Expand concept of backwards planning to other areas of life to gain insight. the concept of low hanging fruit as a practice
Motivation revisit to help with accomplishing tasks
Struggling with all or nothing thinking with GTD system
Breaks down to simple doable pieces (may not be small)
Treat yourself with something positive and healthy; intrinsic rewards can only go but so far.
Find triggers in your system that feel rewarding
Taking the emotions out try to quantify your system and use data to rate it not feeling
Staff accountability; how can you improve it quality of work (non-profit environment)
Suggest buying copies of GTD help them implement look at process 3 years ago
GTD makes one become accountability
in work conversation what the outcome? whats the next action
Overconfidence bias (more knowledge/capabilities than we have)
Talent Management hiring the right people
David Allen managing agreements; they are organized outside of your head so you can make intuitive decisions
Trello; kaban lean management; visual of team and process
Long term planning vs short term planning
Revisit Chapter 3 natural planning model
Figuring out milestones that are doable
don't worry so much about long term planning but you have to shoot for something
Life is more than planning release and live as well
Ted/X Intentional Serendipity; coincides happen for a reason
Adoptions for your environment ; don't be the dinosaur
use different time delineations for different areas aka your health short term plan maybe 3 months career annually
How to get people onboard with GTD | Zero accountability dealing with younger staff
Define the mission & be firm
Find the carrot to draw them in..a connection point
Kaban; as public visual of who's doing what? showcase the winners
Being very specific keep it writing
Positive reinforcements; rewards
Writing being stuck
Outcome; feelings; how and why it happen
start with my personal
use the david allen method "book review"
what's the ripple effect?
how adequate is the ID protection
who is the audience? how do they best receive the information; how do adults learn? whats the medium
what's their perspective; "emotions" than go into detail on solution
TLDR; "too long don't read"
way forward/ future goals
Carving out more quiet focused time for study|Honoring time for others not self
the now habit the unschedule; everything on calendar sleep/showers etc so one really see the True available time
Commit to grad school or not!
Example hanging with friends in bar 5 years vs school in 5 years
20 hours to learn anything
Main Presentation: Using productive language for GTD
Anything more than 1 step is a project ---> next actions "they use WORDS"
Productive language assessment: things that bring choice "I have to do this" vs "I am choosing to do this"
Being different is cool
Being a yes man is not always going to make you stand out
No set way to do anything
Positive self talk " always revisit outcomes"
Income producing outcomes
Lowering the barrier; if you don't enjoy running but make it to track, well might as well run
Mike Forrester "get the folder out"
Aim for the highest don't always listen to the 'critics'; "Shoot for the moon/end up in the stairs"
Having a forward looking view; don't beat yourself up about the past; being constructive with yourself
Active constructive verbs (e.g purging)
Stimulus and response (choice) being fully present and do something about it which is better than doing nothing
Always be aware of associations watch of for negative people
WR: "where can i start?" when can i follow up ; use your waiting for list
Line between following up stalking; provide timeframe upfront
Resources Sharing: Accidental Creative: good resources for OmniFocus
