After I upgraded to 1.5.5-pre I have noticed that it loads CPU very much, even when there is not much to do. On a four core machine Seq is constantly responsible for 50% CPU load.

Another observation: attempt to stop the service never succeeds - it waits for a minute and then timeouts. CPU load quits though, but Seq.exe keeps running. Service is stuck in Stopping state until it is killed.

Thanks for checking out the new build!

Can you please open a ticket on the issue tracker, with a few extra details?
  • The log file from C:\ProgramData\Seq\Logs from the day during which the poor shutdown time was experienced
  • Size of the C:\ProgramData\Seq folder?
  • Which, if any, Seq apps are running?
  • A copy of the settings > Metrics page (still adding to this!)
I'm wondering if this might have something to do with the maximum-destructuring-depth warning; is there any chance of tracking down one of the events that generated this?

Thanks,
Nick

This is actually a question to you: How do I track it down?

This is a good question, I'll see what I can come up with. Thanks for the additional info/ticket.
