Hello everyone!
With enough improvements accrued in Seq 1.5 to make it the biggest step forward since 1.0, we've hit the button and made an official release available. You can
get it now at the Seq website.
As the release has come together we've focused strongly on the manageability theme, with reliability and performance improvements right through the stack. Read a bit
more detail on our blog, including some links to more detailed discussions and notes.
If you're upgrading a large server, especially on low-speed I/O, you should plan for some downtime while events are migrated to the new storage layer. Most installations migrate in a few minutes, but we've had reports of multiple-hour upgrades on specific servers. The performance boost after this process completes is well worth it :)
There were plenty of things we'd like to have done in this release that we'll now examine for the next version - thanks to a strong response to our user survey last month we have a good picture of what's next and we'll be sharing some details of our plans soon.
Thanks for your continued interest and support! I'm looking forward to your
feedback once you've given the new release a try.
All the best,
Nick
