Let’s fix politics for Didcot & Wantage...and for all communities across the UK!

At our recent Spring Conference in York, I was energised to see so many fellow Lib Dems engaging with LDER’s new “Let’s Fix Politics” campaign.

This was just the soft launch of a vital display of leadership from Lib Dem activists, supporters and voters alike - together calling for a change to our broken Westminster system.

Thanks to your generosity, the first elements of our campaign are in place. Now we need your help to take the campaign beyond the walls of the York Barbican.

There’s never been a more important time to get behind the cause. Public support for scrapping First Past the Post has never been higher. But the government has so far failed to give even passing mention to changing the voting system in their so-called “Representation of the People” Bill, which they are currently moving through Parliament.

We still have time to change this. The next few months really matter.

With my colleagues, I’m speaking up in parliament. I’m taking every opportunity to get electoral reform in the press. But we need to make noise on the doorsteps too.

After the May elections, LDER plans to equip every local Lib Dem local party with the campaign toolkit they need to amp up the call for fair votes, both online and offline.

Recently Lib Dem leader Ed Davey said legislation to bring in PR for Westminster elections: “would change our country for the long term. It’s the law that would open up so much - whether it’s health and care, education, transport, social justice, environment.” As our Party’s transport spokesperson, I couldn’t agree more.

We need your help to spread our message far and wide.

Please consider making a one-off donation. This is the only chance we’ll get in this Parliament!

Thank you for all you do to champion electoral reform. I promise to continue to play my part.
