Subject: Prime Minister Farage?

MVM

Dear Roger,

Last year, Keir Starmer’s Labour won a historic landslide - despite only receiving 34% of the vote.

If an election were held today, First Past The Post would likely enable Nigel Farage to do the same.

For example, a recent poll by Find Out Now shows Reform winning a massive majority with 434 seats, on just 32% of the vote.

We'd like to know what this means for our supporters. Would you mind letting us know how you feel about the prospect of a Reform government?

This would be a record low level of support for a majority government. No party should take total power on a minority of the vote - First Past The Post must go.

Make Votes Matter includes people from across the political spectrum, from left to right. There are many things we disagree on, but one thing unites us: the belief that Parliament should reflect the will of the people.

Whether it’s Labour, the Conservatives, Reform or anyone else, we think that nobody who is only supported by a minority of voters should have 100% of the power.

Under Proportional Representation, if a party wins 32% of the vote, it would get around 32% of seats. Sounds like common sense, doesn’t it?

Thank you for your support. Together, we can make a fairer voting system a reality.

Best wishes,

Molly
