This would be a record low level of support for a majority government. No party should take total power on a minority of the vote - First Past The Post must go. Make Votes Matter includes people from across the political spectrum, from left to right. There are many things we disagree on, but one thing unites us: the belief that Parliament should reflect the will of the people. Whether it’s Labour, the Conservatives, Reform or anyone else, we think that nobody who is only supported by a minority of voters should have 100% of the power. Under Proportional Representation, if a party wins 32% of the vote, it would get around 32% of seats. Sounds like common sense, doesn’t it? |
