Dear tactical voter, As you may have seen in our last update email, the vast majority of our supporters want Proportional Representation (PR) instead of our current First Past The Post (FPTP) system. We need your help in the fight to make that change!
Under FPTP we risk the likes of Nigel Farage and Reform gaining power with as little as 27% of the vote. We also see many votes wasted, and many voices under-represented. That's why we're asking for your help in the fight to change things. On 28th January the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Fair Elections is bringing experts to parliament to demonstrate how our voting system is undermining our democracy. We need to get as many MPs to attend as we can - will you contact yours today? |
This session will seek to help MPs understand the negative impact that First Past the Post is having on elections and Britain’s politics, and what they can do to change that. |
We believe that PR is more than just a way to stop Reform from winning an unfair number of seats. It's a way of giving every person an equal say on who governs our nation. And letting people vote for who they really want. PR encourages a more collaborative approach to governing, where parties with similar aims compromise and work together. A fairer, more representative version of politics! Together with Compass, Make Votes Matter, Unlock Democracy and the Electoral Reform Society, we're encouraging as many MPs as possible to attend this event on how we can change our voting system.
