Question on Issue 274 "Free Shipping Bug"

I wanted to ping the list to see if anyone else is experiencing the free shipping bug.  I have a client who would really like it to be fixed, when I last dug into it I thought I had a fix, but instead I turned a sporadic free shipping into 100% free shipping.

So if anyone out there has thoughts or ideas on how to clean this up I'd love to start a convesation about it.  Thanks.

Hm...I haven't tried that. So does it need to re-run you through the shipping calculation screens and it isn't? Perhaps that part isn't wired in to the steps properly?

It does run you through the shipping screen, the issue is that a form field is still hanging around, so it ignores any shipping value selected.  Looking at the code I assumed it would handle the value as an array since there are multiple, but instead it just ignores it.  Forgive my vagueness, I haven't dug back into the issue in a couple of months.
