You can display a linked object or embedded object in a workbook exactly as it appears in the source program or as an icon. If the workbook will be viewed online, and you don't intend to print the workbook, you can display the object as an icon. This minimizes the amount of display space that the object occupies. Viewers who want to display the information can double-click the icon.

You can create an entirely new object based on another program without leaving your workbook. For example, if you want to add a more detailed explanation to your chart or table, you can create an embedded document, such as a Word or PowerPoint file, in Excel. You can either set your object to be displayed right in a worksheet or add an icon that opens the file.

On the Create New tab, select the type of object you want to insert from the list presented. If you want to insert an icon into the spreadsheet instead of the object itself, select the Display as icon check box.

To display an icon, select the Display as icon check box. Optionally, to change the default icon image or label, click Change Icon, and then click the icon that you want from the Icon list, or type a label in the Caption box.

I'm glad you found the spreadsheet helpful! Also, thanks for confirming the scribble strips are tough to read on the XTouch - I almost didn't mention that in my post, as I felt some trepidation about casting shade on something I had no personal experience with.

Lossmentality, wow that's a mouthful, or maybe I should say a fingerful, anyway everything works fine , like you mentioned except like, when I change banks, and I come back to the original track the knob values are changed, and the red led rings around the knobs are all out of wack, No biggie though, if I'm really into a project I hardly notice.....Thanks again for taking the time to make that spreadsheet

As I briefly mentioned above, however, while writing the spreadsheet, I was experimenting with toy projects where I did a lot panning, and I did see the LEDs around the encoders get out of whack (often the last few on the right side of an encoder would light up, and the rest would be blank), but the actual Pan values in cakewalk never changed unless I twiddled a knob (and neither did the Pan values displayed on the scribble strip). But making that setting I mentioned in my previous post in the Mackie config dialog fixed the LED problem completely for me.

...you can set a breakpoint on any line of code, just by clicking on the line number. Then, simply run the script using the 'bug' toolbar icon instead of the usual 'play' button, and the script will run only as far as the first breakpoint.

This open source icon is named "spreadsheet" and is licensed under the open source CC0 license. It's a colored icon. It's available to be downloaded in SVG and PNG formats (available in 256, 512, 1024 and 2048 PNG sizes).

It's part of the icon set "Future Architect Icons", which has 106 icons in it.

If you need this icon available in another format, it should be pretty straight forward to download it as an SVG image file, and then import it into apps like Adobe Photoshop, Figma, Photoshop or Snappa. Converting it to an ICO, JPEG or WebP image format or file type should also be pretty simple (we hope to add that feature to Iconduck soon).

This icon can be used for both Personal & Commercial purposes and projects, but please check the license to see if the designer is requesting attribution (for example, a link back to their website).

Then, what happens after? Your file will float around your spreadsheet and not into a single cell. Yet, to be able to sort or move it with the rest of the content, what you really need is to put it into a single cell. How can you do this?

DHTMLX Spreadsheet uses the Material Design-based icons by default. However, you can use any other icon font pack, if necessary. For this, you need to include the desired icon font on a page and apply icons in any possible part of the spreadsheet: in Toolbar controls, Menu and Context menu items.

The data collection API of the toolbar, menu and context menu allows you to manipulate the controls, namely to add custom controls, remove the controls you don't need, or update the controls,e.g. change their icons.

We say, one image worth 1000 words. Similarly visual representations are sometimes more meaningful than raw data. Conditional formatting is a life saving feature we find in spreadsheets. It allows to format cells based on some condition. In MS Excel, conditional formatting allows background colors, data bars, color scales and icon sets. Among all, icon sets is a cool feature which allows to display various icons in a cell according to condition.
In Google Spreadsheet, conditional formatting allows background and font formatting, icon sets are not yet supported. But there is a workaround which can help you to apply different icons based on condition similar to MS Excel icon sets.

Above formula will show three different icons based on the cell value "Yes", "No" and "May be". You can also mark the nested IF present in place of ELSE of first IF. Here is an example worksheet to play around.

You can check in the formula IMAGE("your_icon_url",3) contains a 2nd parameter 3. It is an optional parameter and indicates the sizing mode of the icon. So, 3 is to display the original size of the icon. This way you can ensure that the icon rendering will not stretch size or look blur.

In MS Excel there is an option to "show only icons", which will hide the textual data and display only the icon in the cell. Though there is no direct way to achieve this in Google Spreadsheet but you can always hide the textual column to get the same type of experience.

If a document is open in any component of OOo (for example, Writer), you can Use the New Document icon on the Standard toolbar. Click the down-arrow for a choice of which type of document to open (text document, spreadsheet, and so on). Click the button itself to create a new document of the type that is currently open. (If a spreadsheet is open, a new spreadsheet document will be created.)

Calc documents can also be created from templates. Follow the above procedures, but instead of selecting Spreadsheet, select the Templates icon from the Start Center or Templates and Documents from the Menu bar or toolbar. On the Templates and Documents window, navigate to the appropriate folder and double-click on the required template. A new spreadsheet, based on the selected template, opens.

Comma-separated values (CSV) files are text files that contain the cell contents of a single sheet. Each line in a CSV file represents a row in a spreadsheet. Commas, semicolons, or other characters are used to separate the cells. Text is put in quotation marks, numbers are written without quotation marks.

If the number of buttons you want to show exceeds the Toolbar's width, you can group them. For this purpose, add an icon button and attach a popup to it. This popup will contain all buttons of the group.
