How to add the structure friction in GETM?

Dear all, 

I'm working with GETM and trying to run the structure_friction_3d.F90 module. I've already enabled STRUCTURE_FRICTION in the compiler options (by adding -DGETM_USE_STRUCTURE_FRICTION=ON) and tried placing the cds parameter in the topo.nc and the initial field file. But I haven't see any changes in the model output. I suspect that the parameters are not being read correctly or the module is not actually running. 

Could anyone advise on how to properly enable this module and input the parameter?  Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
