Get the Dirt on Composting
2pm at the Che Cafe
The Collective collaborates with the UCSD Compost Team and the Che Cafe to bring you dirt, worms and sustainable living! The workshop is led by composting expert, Meredith Wong. We're selling compost bins for just $5 (twelve are available!) Join us at the Che Cafe, a community space, DIY venue, vegan cafe and resource center for radical grassroots activists.

Where Does Your Ewaste Go?

Electronic Waste Film Screening featuring Ghana: Digital Dumping Ground
The movie, Ghana: Digital Dumping Ground, was made by a group of graduate Journalism students at the University of British Columbia. The documentary unveils one of the world's largest electronic waste lands, Agbogbloshie, collecting hundreds of millions of tons of waste each year.
After the film there will be a discussion on the repercussions of electronic waste and what you can do with your ewaste to reduce the impact. The SSC will also provide free organic snacks from People's Co-op!
