Formatting Horizontal menu

As was referenced in a previous post, Google sites now has a
horizontal menu. The question I have is if there is any way to affect
the placement of where those tabs show up, and if there is any way to
space them out. At this point it appears as thought they are left
justified, and are the width of the page title. What I would like to
happen is for the tabs to start above the page content, and not above
the sidebar.
