US Long Track Olympic Trials Day 4 of 6 - 500m today! Jan 5th - on NBCSN live 5-630pm CST
Good luck to the 5 Glen Ellyn Speed Skating (GESS) Skaters that are competing in US Long Track Olympic Trials today!
Today is the 500m for both Men and Women. The skaters will race the 500m twice, getting to start in each lane over the course of the event. The best time of the two runs counts toward their final ranking.
We've enjoyed watching your performances so far! We look forward to watching you compete tonight! We are proud of you and wish you all the best!
The event will be broadcast live on NBCSN from 5:30pm - 7:00pm CST and streamed on the internet in it's entirety.
There are 3 spots in the Olympics for both the men and women being competed for today.

Men's 500 #1 - pairs 1-14 348pm - 423pm (Live TV coverage starts at 515pm)
Women's 500 #1 - pairs 1-10 449pm - 513pm
Men's 500 #2 - 536pm to 610pm
Women's 500 #2 - 628pm to 652pm
Live coverage ends at 700pm

Long Track Secures 16 Quota Spots For Olympic Games
DEC. 26, 2017, 3:12 P.M. (ET)
US Speedskating has qualified 16 long track spots for the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018. Team USA can take a maximum of eight men and eight women based on their performance at the first four ISU Long Track World Cups during the 2017-18 season.
U.S. skaters will qualify for the 16 total spots at U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Speed Skating from Jan. 2-7, 2018 at the Pettit National Ice Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. If an athlete secures multiple distance spots at Trials, the U.S. will take less than 16 skaters. For full U.S. Team athlete selection procedures, click here.
