The ASE wants to help develop skaters to maximize their potential and/or to equip them to make it to the next level by sharing the great resources we have as a program including our coaches, facilities, experience and philosophy to create valuable and unique opportunities for athletes to learn, practice and improve.
We have a tremendous opportunity coming up to learn from Susan Ellis, 2002 Short Track US Olympic Team Coach and creator of the Ellis Edge Method. Sue has worked with many Olympians, National Team members, ASE members and others across multiple continents and countries. She has developed the most advanced understanding of the use of core muscles and applying them to skating to create the most pressure in the most efficient way. She has created a learning methodology that breaks down the technical elements and teaches them in a way that is tuned in to how humans learn. She also created teaching tools such as the Technicords to facilitate learning.
We welcome Sue back to the camp circuit and look forward to learning from her and tapping her experience. She will be joined by ASE Long Track Coach, 2016 USS Development Coach of the Year, and, US Junior World Team Coach Eric Cepuran as well as, Olympic Short Track Silver and Bronze Medalist, World Champion, and, former ASE Short Track Coach and Junior World Team Coach Katherine Reutter. ASE Assistant Short Track Betsy Richards and ASE Program Director and USS 2006 and USOC 2015 Volunteer Coach of the Year Carl Cepuran will also assist with the camp along with others.
We will also do a group for those using ST to cross train for LT and a special optional breakout session for LT for those who want specific instruction on LT or want to try it.
Here's the schedule -
