Fwd: Pettit ASE Weekend ST Ice and mini-camp this Oct 24-26th.

This is from Coach Tim, who assisted Academy for Skating Excellence (ASE) Short Track Coach and US Oympic medalist Katherine Reutter at a similar mini camp at the Pettit a couple of weeks ago. Coach Katherine was also handing this flyer out this past weekend, so maybe you saw it already?

Just want to make sure you do see it. There is short track ice this weekend at the Pettit through this camp along with coaching from Katherine and others. If you have some time and want to participate, check out the info on the flyer. There is a minimum time standard of 1:05 for the 500m. If you have any other questions feel free to contact Coach Katherine or Coach Tim or me.

Also, there are long track time trials this Saturday at the Pettit, along with open LT ice on Sat after TT and on Sunday, if you want to get some LT skating in. Our own Coach Eric is the ASE Long Track Coach, effective since this past August, and is available to give you coaching on the long track as well. Just email or call him for info and to let him know when you will be there.

The ASE is a Pettit National Ice Center program started 3 seasons ago with financial support from US Speedskating and the USOC. It has evolved into a multi-level set of offerings overseen by these two full time coaches (Katherine Reutter for Short Track, and, Eric Cepuran for Long Track). The offerings include full-time, part-time, and, drop-in options for training for both skaters in residence and commuters, as well as various camps and coaching support for competitions. ps - for you LT TT skaters the deadline for signing up for races is now always the Wednesday before the weekend at 4pm. Call the Pettit at 414-266-0100 and press 0 then ask for Jan to sign up or find out when there is LT ice for practice.
