Hi guys,

I just read the Camp Ramah newsletter (see below), which seems to indicate there will be a Gesher Fund Thanksgiving event. Lands, thanks for taking the initiative to make sure this happens...may want to touch base with Deborah-Jo or someone on staff at camp to see what the story is, and maybe you can combine forces. I wish I could be there to help and organize this year, but living down south now makes it a little more difficult. I'm so relieved that the event is happening though, and that we're continuing to do something that is so important both for building Ramah alumni and keeping us together, and for continuing to give to a fund that is so close to our hearts.

Thinking of you all, and I hope everyone is doing well!

Love always,
Lonni

p.s. now that the weather is starting to get warmer, if anyone has plans to come to Miami (or Delray Beach to visit your grandparents --come on, you know your grandparents live there), I'd love to see you!

Gazebo Zugot -
The Place for Ramah Poconos
Couples!
Wedding Bands
Ramah Poconos offers a
wonderful opportunity for couples to celebrate the place that they met - right here at camp! In recognition of where it all began, alumni couples are able to purchase a plaque in honor of their marriage and/or anniversary. Since 2003, 26 couples have already dedicated plaques that hang proudly at camp in the Gazebo
Zugot - the Couples Gazebo.

In many ways the Gazebo Zugot serves as a learning tool for our campers and staff, showing the beauty of marriage and the dedication of these individuals to Jewish continuity. It sends the strong message that they too, have the potential of meeting their bashert - their soul mate - at Ramah.

100% of your donation goes to the Alumni Scholarship Fund, which helps to provide the magical Ramah Poconos experience to those who are unable to afford the full tuition. What a wonderful way for you, friends and family to support the place where your story began while giving you kavod (honor) at the same time.

The Gazebo Zugot is waiting for you! To dedicate a plaque, please contact Deborah-Jo Essrog, Director of Development at 215-885-8556 or debo...@ramahpoconos.org.

Hey Everyone!  Josh speaks the truth!  I am working on this year's event and Jon Adler is going to be nailing down the location for us.

I'm hoping that tomorrow or Monday by the latest, Debra-Jo can set up a Facebook event for us.  Even without the times and place, I think you guys have the right idea about letting people know that it's occurring as soon as possible.  I'll also be reaching out to representatives from many edot of all ages to help publicize the event as well.

So, besides spreading the word, and getting in those donations, I would like to reach out to you all for leads on raffle prizes.  I have some that I'm following up on, but the more the better!  The raffle aspect of this event has as much as doubled the fund raising in years past, so it's really important.  If anyone is able to get tickets, merchandise, or services donated for the raffle, or knows someone who can, please let me know!

Thank you!

Love,
Abbey

Hey gang!

Hats off to Midelton for taking the reins this year and getting things rolling for the event.  The general consensus last year was that Thanksgiving is our main opportunity to continue growing the Gesher Fund from year to year, and so it is wonderful and exciting that that will continue this year.

In that spirit, I was also thinking that it might be nice, especially with people so spread out and not always able to attend the event, if we could all make a commitment to donating to the fund at this time every year, at whatever level we are able.  $18, $36, $50, $100 - any amount, but just so we make sure the fund continues to grow and that we are a part of its growth.  Just an idea!

Also, for the raffle!  I can offer free admission for 2 to the following museums: Museum of Natural History, Brooklyn Museum, the Guggenheim, Metropolitan Museum of Art, MOMA, or the Whitney.  (I guess this would be for New York folks, or anyone who comes to visit.)  Midel, you can decide if this should be one thing, and the winner can choose a museum, or multiple 'items'.

Much love to all,
Julie
