Visiting Day and Talking About The Gesher Fund

What’s Up Everyone!
How is everyone doing? I’m E-mailing you all to talk about Visiting Day and “The Gesher Fund.” I am planning on going up this visiting day to Ramah, which is THIS SUNDAY, July 15th…sorry I meant to send this E-mail out earlier, but it kind of snuck up on me, and I also originally thought it was the 22nd. Anyone else planning on going?
The reason why I’m E-mailing everyone is because I thought it would be a good idea to talk to the current Gesher about continuing the tradition we started of giving money to the Gesher Fund. I believe Julie Berger has spoken to them in the past, which is great. I think, if possible, at least one representative from our Edah should go up every summer and talk about Mike and Andy and what this fund means to us and ask every camper/parent of the current Gesher to give what they can.
I would recommend $18 each, but even $1 each would be a start and something. If we shoot for $18 each, with an average of about 30 Geshernicks each summer, that would be over $500 raised in one day! I recently came back from Israel, and we visited Har Hertzl on my trip and Mike’s grave, and it was a very moving experience to say the least. I know we have not had an event or talked about the fund in a while, so I thought this would be a good opportunity. I probably have to clear this with Todd Zeff, so let me know who is able to come up, and who else would like to speak to the current Gesher with me. Thanks, and I hope everyone is doing well.

I do know that Gesher usually has a meeting with the whole edah and parents on the porch on Visiting Day, before leaving for their trip. That might be a good time to catch them and do a short pitch. Howie would be the one to talk to I'd say, not Todd.
I will be at camp for Shabbat, but I can't stay for Visiting Day; I will mention it to Howie when I see him though.

What a fantastic idea!! I wish I could be there to help spread the word about Gesher Fund, but I think even if you're there solo, and if anyone else will be there to help support the Fund, it will be a great thing. I can't thank you enough for thinking up the idea of spreading the word about this and helping the current Gesher perpetuate what we started. Please let us know how it goes!!
