| Description: |
You will be responsible
for daily administration of Linux and Windows based servers,
workstations and phone system.
Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to, the following:
ñ Coordinate and
collaborate with System and Network Administrators to ensure
availability, reliability, and scalability of corporate servers to
meet business demands
ñ Plan and
implement server upgrades, maintenance fixes, and vendor-supplied
patches.
ñ
Recommend and execute modifications to server environment in order
to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance
ñ Contribute to
systems incident response and event handling.
ñ Identifies
diagnosis, and resolves technical problems, problem escalation and
solution tracking
ñ Recommend and
implement policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure server
security.
ñ
Administration of the Linux Clusters
ñ Installation and
maintenance of the FAE and CAD software such as Abaques, Ansys,
Catia, NX,
Essential
Functions:
·
Utilize interpersonal skills and communication skills as a Systems
Administrator to train, instruct and educate groups and
individuals
·
Handles multiple project responsibilities simultaneously, to
prioritize work and resolve technical emergencies as they may
occur
· Must be
able to travel up to 30% of the time (Seattle, Las Vegas)
· Must be able to lift
at least 50 pounds
Technical Skills
Required:
· Strong
understanding of TCP/IP networking and host configurations
· Network
Administration experience, DNS, NIS, LDAP and LAN
· Windows desktop
support experience
· Firewall, ispec VPN,
OpenVPN
·
Knowledge of opensource products such as cfengine, OCS Inventory,
GLPI Asset Management Software and OpenNMS
· Experience with High
Performance Linux Clustering a
· Bachelor’s degree in
Computer Science and 2/3 years’ experience in Linux server
administration or 5+ years’ of experience in Linux server
administration.
